I think society is healthier when everyone's needs are met and they have the ability to lead fulfilling and enjoyable lives

If income tax is an (imperfect) way of pursuing that goal, then yes; but raising taxes on the rich is insufficient. A society with a large wealth gap is fundamentally unhealthy in the first place, regardless of its tax policy.
