I work in mental health services. I have also used services this past year and will continue to do so.

Its an epidemic with social media, polarization of the pollical climate, lack of resilience in todays society with higher degree of stress and complexity. The rate of aniexty/depression/adhd... is skyrocketing.

I had to wait three months to see a therapist, and the appointment with the therapist was just to get a referral to see a psychiatrist. We need to stop sending mentally ill people on wild goose chases for a doctor, and start giving them the support they need to establish a baseline mode of operation in their life.

There is not enough resources put in place for phycological care, there needs to be more funding, especially given the rise of homelessness in the country, and harsh material conditions that people face on a day to day.

I've realized that there are a lot of people who should definitly be seaking support for their mental health but haven't because they dont know how or where to go, everyone struggles with mental health and it's important to know where you can find help for it because I think our society would be a lot less cruel if people would get help for their problems.

 @9WSVFNVfrom Ontario  answered…4wks4W

It has shown me that not all mental health issues all "black and white" and need more help and understanding before we can provide the help needed.

 @9WL6S5Yfrom Ontario  answered…4wks4W

I believe the government is doing as much as they can and you can't force people to get help, some people don't want it and don't need it.

 @9W8ZZMLanswered…1mo1MO

It's annoying, I don't want to get help because I would be reliving my trauma.

 @9W8NP9SConservativefrom British Columbia  answered…1mo1MO

I think people seek help in their own way, and how they are raised can determine it

 @9W6SMJ8from British Columbia  answered…1mo1MO

I have not struggled with anything Mental Health Related so this topic does not apply to me.

 @9W6FGPVConservativefrom Ontario  answered…1mo1MO

I find that it is much harder, since people claim to understand and help. They barley do anything.

 @9W3MZPWfrom British Columbia  answered…1mo1MO

Not a personal struggle, but access to health care has impacted a lot of people’s ability to address their mental health.

 @9W3C9LBfrom Ontario  answered…1mo1MO

Ive seen people who have disliked the idea of therapy and it has changed my perspective on seeking help.

It is about the same to be honestly i just really think the government should be better on mental health because there are some some inncurable illnesses that people have and the government should make it free for people and people might already have other challenges that the government may or may not be able to fix...

 @9VSK9Q9from Saskatchewan  answered…1mo1MO

i think that the way you're raised with the topic of mental health is the way you`ll seek help or not.

My personal challenges are things I'm certainly not going to say on here.

Yet, they have certainly vastly changed my perspectives on people who do have mental struggles and the ways they may seek aid.

Mainly, I think that the care people already show for those who are going through mental health challenges is amazing. And I'd like it if we could continue in that way : )

knowing/ seeing how difficult it is for people with mental health issues and/ or addiction to seek help as they don’t always know or realize that they need the help because of the state they are in .mental health and or addiction issues affect everyone around that person who is struggling .More available and easier access to help resources, and training for families as well as the person struggling is needed.

 @9VH5D6WConservativefrom Ontario  answered…2mos2MO

Going through your own challenges and getting the proper help to lead you in the right direction spotlights how important it is to reach out and get the help you need.

Life is full of struggles. When you need help, reach out to a family member, close friend, or loved one. I think everyone goes through things it just truly matters in the way you go about it.

 @9VB8FGDfrom Ontario  answered…2mos2MO

the only support I need is support from my family and support from goverment

 @9V8NVJ4from Ontario  answered…2mos2MO

I have never had Mental Health but if I did I would just try and breathe and talk to someone and stay off my phone.

 @9VFTSSSfrom Nova Scotia  answered…2mos2MO

I think everyone should be able to reserve resources of help when they need it

 @9VFSPYKfrom Ontario  answered…2mos2MO

Life is full of struggles, what makes it easier is the people in your life and the people you reach out to.

 @9VCVSTMfrom Ontario  answered…2mos2MO

I think it's important to trust the people around you that you're close to and it's important to seek help if needed.

 @9VBMTQ8Conservativefrom Ontario  answered…2mos2MO

I have been seeing a therapist for over two years now. In that time I have done much growing and have also learned many skills. My life is better for it and I encourage more people to talk to someone if they feel they are in need of assistance.
