At least 33 Palestinians were killed and more than 80 injured in an Israeli strike on north Gaza’s Jabalia camp, which has been under siege by Israel’s military for more than two weeks.
Dr Mohamad Salha, acting director of al-Awda Hospital, said his facility is overwhelmed treating about 70, mostly women and children, wounded in the latest deadly attack on Jabalia.
Hamas remains defiant after the killing of leader Yahya Sinwar, saying Israeli captives will not be released “unless the aggression on Gaza stops”, Israeli forces completely withdraw and Palestinian prisoners held in Israel are freed.
In Gaza, at least 42,500 people have been killed and 99,546 wounded in Israeli attacks since October 7, 2023. At least 1,139 people were killed in Hamas’s attacks on Israel on October 7, 2023, and more than 200 were taken captive.
