Should immigrants be deported if they commit a serious crime?

It depends on what crime they commit

For example, bio-terrorism should be a serious crime which is deportable to some extent. But you don't just deports somebody for stealing 3 packets of jolly ranchers. Also, how long have they lived in this country; a year, 16 years, are they legal citizens? Etc.
