The Israel-Hamas war is an armed conflict between Israel and Hamas militant groups that has been taking place in and around the Gaza strip since October 7 2023. The conflict started when Hamas militant groups fired rockets and attacked communities and military bases in southern Israel. 1,139 people were killed in the attack including 766 civilians and 373 civilian forces. 250 Israelis were taken hostage by Hamas. On October 27th the Israeli Army launched a large-scale ground incursion into the Palestinian territories of the West Bank and Gaza strip. On October 24th 2023 the United Nations…

There is no evidence that the people who are in power in Gaza (Hamas) are willing to negotiate in good faith. They are a terrorist organization who only continue to vow to kill all Jewish people, and they are a threat to humanity. We should side with Israel and help them defend themselves, especially considering how much Israel contributes to healthcare innovation, and the overall well-being of people around the world with their technology. We should support Israel as much as possible. Israel shares many of our values and goals whereas the people in Gaza do not. It is sad and unfortunate, but a cease-fire will not change that.
@9LSTTFJ11mos11MO
Hamas is a terrorist organization that does not play by the same rules as legitimate national governments. Their main objective is to erase Israel and all Jews. A cease fire only provides Hamas time to regroup, rearm, and replan more terrorist attacks. Hamas hides behinds civilians. If the Palestinian people don’t want to be casualties of war they need to oust Hamas themselves. Is Israel supposed to just accept a neighbour whose entire purpose is to commit genocide against its people.
What if Israel was America? It was, when the Taliban attacked and America was justified in its 20 year war.
@ISIDEWITH1yr1Y
No
@B2S35ZYConservative1mo1MO
A cease-fire will only allow Hamas to rebuild and arm themselves again. They want to prepare for future attacks and prolong the cycle of violence rather than end it. Increased military pressure is necessary to secure the release of the hostages and dismantle Hamas‘s military capabilities. A cease-fire without clear conditions will signal weakness and bold in Hamas and other militant groups to launch future attacks. Previous these fires have often been temporary with him using them to recover before launching new attacks, which means a lasting resolution is unlikely while Hamas continues to hold any power. Pausing military action without concrete concessions like surrender or leadership change will undermine Israel’s position and negotiations.
@B2WTBBN4wks4W
Yes, and try Israeli government officials and dismantle Hamas and other Palestinian militant organizations.
@B2SWR5QConservative1mo1MO
No, I support the government calling for a permanent sustainable peace that is based on the Palestinians recognizing Israel's right to exist in its current borders, as well as waive their right to return.
@B25LX3V3mos3MO
Yes, but there's also been multiple ceasefires that have been broken, so I understand the stupidity of those who still cry for a ceasefire
@B23CRQ33mos3MO
Yes, and we should also commit to supporting the Palestinian Armed Resistance groups to eliminte Israel and Zionism.
@B2JBSJ22mos2MO
Yes, war anywhere is ugly. Ideally we'd maturely solve problems with words and respect. But don't call for one side to cease fire at the expense of the other. Both need to peacefully stop.
@B2BM93X2mos2MO
No, I believe more so in a ground sweep to specifically target Hamas to avoid the civilian casualities which Hamas uses as shields.
@B29S24XConservative2mos2MO
No, but Israel should try to minimize its attacks to only places where terror groups like Hamas and Hezbollah are meeting.
@B29BM442mos2MO
This is not a Canadian problem, we have enough issues to deal with. Israel is surrounded by terror threats and they have the right to protect them selfs, that being said there should be a two state solution but it’s up to those countries to figure it out
@B28797S2mos2MO
No. Hamas is a criminal terrorist organization and the Palestinians support this hate group so the ceasefire is pointless
seriously? no other options here? a yes or no ? on one of the most politically complex issues of our time? lazyyy
@9L7D6G412mos12MO
Yes, and Israeli government must face consequences for genocide.
@979XN3F 12mos12MO
No, not until every last hostage held by Hamas has been rescued or released
@9KQTVL312mos12MO
When Hamas is wiped out, then put the weapons down
@9KQQPJF12mos12MO
A call for Israel to halt military tactics that cause mass casualties, but still commit to the removal of Hamas from power in Gaza.
@9KLT7LCRhinoceros1yr1Y
Yes, provided both sides agree to the ceasefire, aid is given to ailing citizens, and hostages are released.
@9KGZZVZ1yr1Y
Shouldn't interfere with foreign conflicts unless absolutely necessary.
@9KG9KSM1yr1Y
What's happening in Gaza is atrocious but this isn't Canadians business to get involved in. I want the citizens of Palestine to be safe.
@9K4PKQ51yr1Y
I support a conditional ceasefire with the conditions put forward by Israel- the immediate release of all the hostages and the surrender, and permanant removal of Hamas from Gaza.
@9JWZJD3Rhinoceros1yr1Y
Other countries sticking their nose in the political landscape got us into the current mess. Ceasefire or not, things need to be figured out
@9JVNB5G1yr1Y
I think they should nuke them all after they hide all the Hamas leaders, hail, Hamas, and hail Hitler
@9JV5LCX 1yr1Y
Tell all sides to stop fighting each other and allow for peace to prosper while allowing for more freedom while preventing deaths of innocent people.
@9JMWT931yr1Y
If a permanent ceasefire would call for no more terrorist attacks, then yes, but this calling from Canada will not change the unrealistic scenario as Gaza will always enact violence towards Israel if led by a terrorist Jihad regime.
@9JM58261yr1Y
I agree with Ceasfire and disagree at the same time because there were hostages that Israelis wanted to be freed and to do that they kept firing. But, in the meantime, they killed many to do that, and I don't agree with that.
@9JM57ZY1yr1Y
There are 2 sides to this war. As one side can reload on ammunition and weapons and as the other side people can find a haven but also get captured this ceasefire is a benefit and non-benefit to both countries.
@9JL9XYZConservative1yr1Y
It’s not our war and we need to focus on ourselves not two genisidal countries that have wanted to kill each other for the past 5000years
@9WKLBWB5mos5MO
I do support a ceasefire but the palestinians have a right to defend themselves from foreign occupation.
@9VRM7F45mos5MO
No, a ceasefire would be great but we're just talking to a brick wall at this point
@9TN6ZYV6mos6MO
No, let the conflict end however the two parties involved decide.
@9TJLHS46mos6MO
Unless it harms canada then no it's a waste on our own supplies
@9TH4SPWConservative6mos6MO
Again, I don’t think it’s Canada’s business to get involved there.
@9T6QRJ96mos6MO
the government has not called for a permanent ceasefire, but they should
@9SLJBJV7mos7MO
Yes and the Israeli government needs to be held accountable for genocide.
@9S7ZN497mos7MO
This conflict is no more important than other such conflicts in the world, nor is it any of our business.
@9RZPX677mos7MO
our B grade military has more important things to worry about than some 3rd world middle eastern conflict
@9RPNFCW7mos7MO
No, if we get involved it should be to return all of Israel back to the Israelis and the complete removal of the Hamas terrorists
@9RJ6K3V8mos8MO
No, the incident is not taking place on Canadian soil.
@9RF57CQ8mos8MO
Yes, but all hostages and captives must be released first.
@9RF4P2VConservative8mos8MO
It should be promoted that both sides ceasefire all together
@9RCRJ4F8mos8MO
As with any nation, Israel has the right to defend themselves.
@9RBVFQQ8mos8MO
It's preformative and has no measurable effect. I'd rather the government spend it's time focusing on domestic issues instead.
@9RBSGXS8mos8MO
Yes, but only if the ceasefire is after the hostages are returned.
@9RBQSCD8mos8MO
Yes, once all Israeli hostages are released and Hamas leaders sent to the international criminal court.
@9RBQ7SGNew Democratic8mos8MO
I support removing Hamas and helping to replace with a legitimate governing body
@9QF8FSW8mos8MO
I don't agree with war but I will always stand with Israel
@9PW486R9mos9MO
Yes, but only if Hamas agrees to turn over all the hostages and institute democratic elections within 3 years.
@9P8NRFMNew Democratic 9mos9MO
Canada should participate in the decision to convinct both the Israeli government and terrorist group Hamas of war crimes/human rights violations in the International Court of Justice.
@9MGWZ2Y10mos10MO
We should be saying "We are pro life and that Terrorists like Hamas should be stopped"
@9MD9HGN10mos10MO
its a waste of a vote, none of the countries involved care what we think
@9LW757911mos11MO
Our stance means nothing to those involved in said conflict.
@9LTL76V11mos11MO
Non of our business, we need to take care of our people first
No to any involvement. Let Israel stand on its own two feet and atone for how it has treated Palestinians since 1948. The country should never have been formed in the first place. Let them make their own way with Iran, Syria, Jordan, Egypt and other Arab states. Then, let's see how the bully makes out in the playground.
Yes, but only if it results in the destruction of Hamas and Palestine Authority control within Gaza
@9ZK3JNS4mos4MO
No, but I support the demilitarization of Israel and believe Hamas and other groups should be free to liberate palestine, Israel has no right to exist.
