Familialism according to literal definition means a cultural value that emphasizes warm, close, supportive family relationships that family must be prioritized over self, however this has changed over time as I view family as more of a strong support system that allows more emphasize on education, and to be in an economic stabilized environment while raising up their kids to be productive citizens of Canada. In this case, family should not only be limited to blood related members but a family can be those who someone can feel strong trust and a sense of respect also belonging knowing that they’re cooperating with safety laws and being able to live comfortably without worrying about violence or prejudice of any forms.

Your biological family, but also anyone who matters to you and you would consider close enough to call your family

Any links in the generational chain, be they through adoption or child birth constitute a family or any couple who make a formal commitment to join each other's families. This has not changed for me.

I think the term family for me has evolved overtime, i used to think the word family was people whom were blood related to me, but as i grow up and continue to grow i realise its the people around me, who support me who i call my family.

Family should provide love, support, and a sense of belonging. This ideology has evolved over time, as I did not understand the impact family has on an individual.

One mom, one dad, and siblings. Same-sex marriage is a mental illness we learned to label some sort of "love". The family has not and will not change in my opinion.

To me, family is not limited by blood or legal ties. Family is who you choose to be family. Family is the people who love you, support you, and accept you for who you are. Family is the people you can trust, rely on, and have fun with. Family is the people you share your joys and sorrows with. Family is the people you want to be with, no matter what.
