I feel happy to hear diversity and I think we should be proud of having other worldviews to learn from

 @9HZTMP6People’sfrom Quebec  disagreed…1yr1Y

Canada is a place for Canadians what makes us unique is not how many countries have the cultural districts and restaurants in our country but our unique history and culture which no other country has. And as well as unique people which as well can only be found in large numbers and as a majority in Canada. If Canadians are not the majority there will be no such things as Canadians or a Canada.

 @9HYFRDZConservativefrom British Columbia  agreed…1yr1Y

Canada is a nation made up of immigrants, people from all different backgrounds, it is a patchwork made of the entire world. I am happy to see people celebrating and keeping their culture alive, My family also immigrated to Canada, and for me it always makes me happy to hear people speak the languages of my heritage.

 @9LK5KFHfrom British Columbia  answered…12mos12MO

I feel joy, because I love to hear other people engaging in a language that is likely tied to a culture that is different than mine, and that connection is important, and beautiful.

 @9LNMTQPPeople’sfrom Alberta  agreed…12mos12MO

different languages can make you realize English is not the first language to many, and you should always appreciate others and not discriminate or hate.

I don't care. Speak what ever language you want where ever you want. But if you live in Canada I think you must learn English or French depending on where you reside.

 @9QX93KGGreenfrom British Columbia  answered…9mos9MO

It’s interesting to me. I do enjoy hearing people speak their own language, but I struggle when I try to speak to someone with an accent, which isn’t necessarily their fault.

 @9QRM8K9from British Columbia  answered…9mos9MO

I mind my business because it's wonderful that Canada is a diverse nation and I see it as an asset to the country that we have so manu cultures and languages.

 @9QCBRTVfrom British Columbia  answered…9mos9MO

It doesn't bother me since I also speak another language besides English which I sometimes use.

 @9PT533Jfrom British Columbia  answered…9mos9MO

I have nothing against foreign languages per se, I have a problem with the quality of immigrants coming to the country.

 @9J4PZFKfrom British Columbia  answered…1yr1Y

I don’t feel any way, my family also speaks multiple languages and that’s why Canada is so unique. There are so many different cultures and languages here.

 @9J4PHC3Conservativefrom British Columbia  answered…1yr1Y

Diversity is always a strength as it provides access to multiple perspectives that lead to unique solutions. The shared wisdom of multiple cultures also empowers us as a whole to learn from our respective histories to prevent making the same mistakes. The caveat is that we must have a growth mindset as opposed to a scarcity mindset. Everyone can succeed together.

 @9LM3HW7from British Columbia  answered…12mos12MO

I feel a bit uncomfortable because you don’t know what they are saying. So it is possible they could be talking about you behind your back.

 @9K4LXDXConservativefrom British Columbia  answered…1yr1Y

I think its interesting. How language works. We used to communicate by grunts and now we can just flow out a language and not have to think about what to say and it amazing how humans have evolved to do so.

 @9K77S7Gfrom British Columbia  answered…1yr1Y

I feel average, different languages are just cool to hear, as long as the speaker can communicate in some way its fine

 @9K65Y6Tfrom British Columbia  answered…1yr1Y

When I hear a language that I don't understand, I am clueless and really not care what the person is talking about because I am not interested.

 @9K64YTNfrom British Columbia  answered…1yr1Y

I genuinely could care less if there are minority’s in Canada Aslong as they are working and helping the community

 @9K5RHCFfrom British Columbia  answered…1yr1Y

i feel fine. diversity is good, it brings culture. personally i find different languages cool and would like to learn many myself. i think i feel this way because i myself am an immigrant and have grown up listening to 3 main languages around my life.

 @9K5R4VQfrom British Columbia  answered…1yr1Y

i feel glad that people can speak in languages other than english and/or french publicly, without having to fear they'll be told to 'go back to their own country' or 'speak english because we're in Canada'.

 @9K5PV8F from British Columbia  answered…1yr1Y

it feels a little awkward to try and talk to people who don't speak the same language. I feel like this at my job all the time. its such a challenge to get to the next person without being rude to the person who doesnt speak english.

 @9JZVYL6New Democratic from British Columbia  answered…1yr1Y

I feel indifferent. I believe this is because the way in which someone else communicates with someone is none of my business, and no one is demanding me to learn other languages.

 @9JZ9Y7Lfrom British Columbia  answered…1yr1Y

I don't care I think that everyone has their own language that they speak with their loved ones it's not my business.

 @9JXPF8LLiberalfrom British Columbia  answered…1yr1Y

 @9JWNPWXfrom British Columbia  answered…1yr1Y

I feel out of place but we should take a deeper look into learning new languages so everyone can fit in.

 @9JZ8DZ4from British Columbia  answered…1yr1Y

It doesn't bother me to hear other languages. It's been apart of my entire 43 years on this planet. I grew up in a small diverse town in Northern British Columbia, Kitimat, and many immigrants from all over lived there. I took French from grades 1-9 and even Spanish in highschool.

 @9JY7F2Cfrom British Columbia  answered…1yr1Y

Unless I hear their tone of conversations in their language, i wouldn't be bothered. I wouldn't be bothered because they have the right to talk in their own language as it is their first and own language.

 @9JXW8SVfrom British Columbia  answered…1yr1Y

When I hear languages I don't understand, I might feel curious about them or a bit left out if everyone else seems to understand. It's like being in a group where everyone is talking in a language you don't speak—it can make you feel a bit disconnected. But sometimes, it can also spark an interest in learning more about different cultures and languages. It really depends on the situation and how comfortable I am with not understanding what's being said.

 @9JYJRF7from British Columbia  answered…1yr1Y

 @9JWYQC3 from British Columbia  answered…1yr1Y

When I hear a language that I do not understand I feel one of two ways. Either curious or confused. Most of the time it is the first one. I feel this way because languages are something that can connect you to your relatives and heritage. When I hear people talking in a different language that means that there is cultural diversity. This makes me happy and interested in what they were saying especially due to either facial expressions or body language.

 @9JWT77Pfrom British Columbia  answered…1yr1Y

Fine I feel anyone should feel welcome to speak any language which makes them more comfortable, however I feel all business signs should have to have some sort of English description on them.
