No, absolutely not. there should be no religious influence on political matters. every single persons and every single religion has different morals and ethics. what is allowed and okay for one person or group of people is not okay for another. i think that people have used religion to cause massive problems in the world and human race today.

traditionally yes, but the church is irrelevant to many now.

Laws is a thing that apllies to everyone and shouldn't be able to be altered in anyway with out the governments thoughts.

 @9JXSZDSfrom Alberta  disagreed…1yr1Y

There are many more religions nationally so it is not right to only let the Catholic Church have a say

 @9HJ9GD4New Democraticfrom Manitoba  answered…1yr1Y

No I don’t think so because not everyone believes in that stuff so it should not have such a big impact on their lives.

 @9HN5ZG3New Democraticfrom Ontario  answered…1yr1Y

I think no religion should have any solid say in laws but rather have an opinion as it affects those in and out of the religion/faith group.

 @9HKC9SVfrom Ontario  answered…1yr1Y

No, religion should have no say in politics, that's how a lot of wars and rebellions happen.

no. catholic voters absolutely but the separation of ALL denominations of religion and state is important.

The Catholic Church's input on political matters like marriage and education should be considered alongside diverse perspectives, upholding democratic principles and the separation of church and state.

No, we as humans should allow logic, not fictional and old stories dictate what rules we set for ourselves.

 @9K4SSM6New Democraticfrom Ontario  answered…1yr1Y

There is pros and cons to this situation, the pros are that our country is showing democracy and letting everybody of different religions have their say in politics even if many people are not in favor of it. The cons are that if any problem occurs, the government can blame the Catholic church. This can be seen with the not so long ago issue where prime minister Justin Trudeau asked pope Francis to say sorry for the residential schools that happened years ago.

 @9K3V48YNew Democraticfrom British Columbia  answered…1yr1Y

No because not everyone follows that religion, so they shouldn't have a say in something as important as political matters when it's not their place

  @LeftAnglicanNew Democratic from Manitoba  answered…1yr1Y

No. i say it as a Christian that a separation of Church and State should be upheld in society. It is better for the people and the Church that the Church does not govern society.

 @9HGM668New Democraticfrom Ontario  answered…1yr1Y

No. The bible is a book. The catholic church has nothing good to offer the world.

 @9JZCNZW from Ontario  answered…1yr1Y

as far as religion stays from politics of power, the better the country's peace survives. religion in politics corrupts, both, religion and politics. spreading chaos.

Religion should not have a say in the laws. It will get messier than it already is

I think they should because a lot of those religious people and intelligent and have good opinions.

 @9K56FMFNew Democraticfrom Ontario  answered…1yr1Y

No, they should not. State and religion should be completely separate. There are many different religions as well as non religious people so it would be unfair to them and there are also many different views within the religion. At times the religion can be discriminatory especially when it comes to the lgbtq+ community, also if it was part of education, they would be imposing their religion upon non willing participants.

 @9K2BPBCNew Democraticfrom British Columbia  answered…1yr1Y

absolutely not, keep the state and religion seperate. especially because this will also guve the catholic church a lot more power than they deserve, in which a repeat of residential schools will probably happen again, which contradicts freedom of religion.

 @9JZVYL6New Democratic from British Columbia  answered…1yr1Y

No, the Catholic Church and other religious organizations are partisan by nature and should not have a say in the decisions of other people or of nations.

 @9JYZVPKNew Democraticfrom Manitoba  answered…1yr1Y

I believe in free speech for everyone. The Catholic Church is free to say what they want, but not have control over the law.

 @9JCWJLH from Ontario  answered…1yr1Y

No. Religion is a choice. I don't believe that the beliefs chosen by a group of individuals should be forced upon the masses without their say.
