Should funding for local police departments be redirected to social and community based programs?
No, increase funding and training for police departments in higher crime rate communities
There's a reason that certain communities are higher in crime, and these communities are usually low-income, and the fact that low-income communities are higher in crime is a reflection of a more systematic problem that needs to be tackled, and it can't be solved by turning poor communities into psuedo police states.
