I don't think defunding the police is the right idea the police are a good thing they're there to keep the citys and the communities in the citys safe we need to look at police as friendly people who are there to help people in need whatever they're called upon.

There's a reason that certain communities are higher in crime, and these communities are usually low-income, and the fact that low-income communities are higher in crime is a reflection of a more systematic problem that needs to be tackled, and it can't be solved by turning poor communities into psuedo police states.

The police have too much on their plate with violent crimes- we should be placing more money into mental health supports and housing supports instead of the police. It would reduce crime.

It's like COVID before the vaccine. Where medical professionals are fighting the symptoms and not the actual virus. Being tough on crime, especially on high rate communities, might be effective in the short term. However, it will not serve as a long term solution as criminals will only find more ways to hide. Fighting the cause of crime will lower crime rates.

Funding police program is not the best option, because the rate of crime in community is not stable, it’s always changing
@9FJBR8R2yrs2Y
Increasing the funding would only fix a few of the many problems with the police. Police will always tend to focus on where the "crime" is. Because of the laws and bylaws made simply to increase incarceration percentage, police will continue to target minorities and people below the poverty line despite the amount of training provided to them.

More police would only breed more civil unrest and crime, instead we need to target the core reasons why people commit crimes, due to desperation and poverty
