No. We should focus on rehabilitation of people in prisons rather than punishment and/or death.
@9WBRK8D6mos6MO
No, death penalty is no different than murder. Zero parole for entire life, not just a life sentence, and support consecutive life sentences.
@9Q3HJWF10mos10MO
Crimes like murder and/or sexual offences against children(living! Not fetuses)should have capital punishment
@9RC97PLNew Democratic9mos9MO
No, the death penalty will increase number of appeals and increase costs and burden to the legal system.
Yes, but meted out by the victim's family and only in air-tight, brutal, sadistic and truly malevolent cases. Any cased determined only by circumstantial evidence or DNA, no way. Too much room for bad trial procedure, faulty or corrupt laboratory work. It would seem that a second hearing would be needed to make sure that conviction met a VERY stringent criteria.
@9WB3ZBY6mos6MO
No, work camps, food, water, shelter, education related to harm they have caused, mental health support
@9NHFRHJ11mos11MO
No, but with the exception of corrupt CEOs or government officials. There needs to be a very high price for corruption. Especially if cost cutting measures of CEOs result in deaths of consumers.
@92GWKPZ3yrs3Y
Yes But Only If The Person Is A Terrorist,Mass Murderer Or War Criminal
@97Z84HSConservative2yrs2Y
No, it is more cost-efficient to keep them in jail.
@8X39BWB3yrs3Y
The state has no right to kill you
@8S6WXGG4yrs4Y
yes, but spending life is also a harsher sentence.
@8QT4R944yrs4Y
only if they are consumed by grief and cant go on
@8QT42JM4yrs4Y
well you a-holes have a thing with killing people of colour and then letting white criminals get away with s**t so who the f**k knows huh?
@8QR6LHV4yrs4Y
I support the death penalty for murder but at the same time I don't like government having all that power.
@8J66B8RNew Democratic5yrs5Y
No, you are showing people that murder is illegal by murdering them.
@8DMWLTN5yrs5Y
Not with our current legal system and how much it unfairly targets marginalized people. In a vacuum then I might for certain extremely dangerous people
@8C6D5TQ5yrs5Y
I'm very mixed on this topic
@8C4WCJ75yrs5Y
Yes, but I wouldn't use it because it would give the government to much power to decide.
@99D9F6V2yrs2Y
No one has the right to take someone life
@994LLDS2yrs2Y
No, the right to life is a constitutional one
@8VJZSSX4yrs4Y
No, except for sexual assaults against minors, or rape.
@8VHSYBT4yrs4Y
Death is just an escape. people who really suck deserve to rot in prison.
@8TXV4VB4yrs4Y
I would support the death penalty for individuals who traffic and or sexually abuse children.
@8J5WHNG5yrs5Y
Life for a life only adds to more death. Doesn't give the right to take that person's life.
@8G9YTJM5yrs5Y
I believe that many people are falsely punished, but for the people that have been correctly in-prisoned with just evidence I think it is fair to have them on the death penalty. Although I do also think that the case should be looked over by many people and all of their opinions should be heard and accounted for.
@8VDH4744yrs4Y
Instead of the death penalty, subjects should be studied in captivity to better understand mental health and warning signs.
@8V78LVB4yrs4Y
Yes, only for uncurable psychopaths who will always be a danger to society, and can never be rehabilitated due to mental derangement. Done as a mercy, not as a punishment, or revenge.
@8V6LTBW4yrs4Y
Prisoners should be contributing to the economy in some manner. Paying their living expenses through meaningful labor.
@8V47RFD4yrs4Y
Yes, but only for horrific crimes with undeniable evidence, and repeat offenders who show no sign of remorse or change.
@Steeviemac4yrs4Y
No, but life sentences in lieu of the death penalty should be without parole and without the socialization or training benefits other inmates receive.
@8TVXKK44yrs4Y
Yes, but the convicted should be allowed to choose it as an alternative to a prison sentence
@8TKX5JG4yrs4Y
Yes but only if the individual being sentenced has absolutely been proven guilty.
@9BXP6MQ2yrs2Y
Only for the worst of the worst with undeniable evidence
@8WXMVWJ3yrs3Y
For the worst offenders who are unable to be rehabailitated
@8VWXDZS4yrs4Y
No but there might be circumstances where this is the most horrific crime that might lead to this punishment.
@8VLKD3Z4yrs4Y
Bring back gladiator fights for the worst convicts. (Minor crimes should be rehabilitated)
@8V79MYH4yrs4Y
No, too much risk if there could be the smallest possibility they are innocent, history has taught us this.
@95J7G9T3yrs3Y
Depends on the crime and if they are metally ill or theres anòther matter as to why they did it
@95DH7PG3yrs3Y
Far too many innocent people are convicted under the death penalty, and this denigrates the state's image of respecting human rights if we allow innocent people to be executed. We would also face massive legal costs being sued by families under wrongful death/conviction lawsuits, so it is better to face life in prison, which keeps potentially innocent people alive but also makes those who are guilty face the consequences of their actions. It is also not a deterrent as there are many reasons as to why people commit crimes, and some of them are justified though they are legally against the law. So no, I am not for the death penalty and never will be.
