there should be more restrictions to guns and i feel like people should have a gun only if they are really well trained and have to really really defend themselves and have taken lessons with these type of weapons

 @9H7ZR6Hfrom Ontario  disagreed…1yr1Y

gun control should be focused on keeping crimes away. if you own a gun you should be licenced and know how to use it safely

 @9FBCV6MConservativefrom Ontario  disagreed…2yrs2Y

There should be way more restrictions to buy a gun there’s should be zero school shooting in United States

 @9FVVVR5from Ontario  agreed…2yrs2Y

Though I feel like this stance can be more offenseive, it is true that criminals and the mentally ill can be more dangerous when handling a firearm compared to a regular responsible gun owner.

 @9MFVHCRfrom Ontario  disagreed…11mos11MO

Arguing that gun control measures only impact criminals and the mentally ill overlooks the broader societal benefits and preventive aspects of such regulations. While it's true that these measures primarily target specific groups, they also serve to prevent firearms from falling into the wrong hands in the first place. By implementing comprehensive background checks, waiting periods, and red flag laws, we can reduce the risk of gun-related crimes, accidents, and suicides, benefiting entire communities. Gun control isn't solely about addressing individual behaviour but also about promoting community safety and responsible gun ownership.

some argue that strict gun control laws may not necessarily lead to a decrease in gun-related crimes. This is because criminals often obtain guns illegally,

 @9LSRPPTfrom Ontario  disagreed…12mos12MO

my counter argument is, first off equality, but also youre not a criminal until you do something and giving free will over guns to everybody is dumb. just because you have a mental health issue or illness doe not mean you should be treated so differently and anyone is at rink when owning a gun.

 @9H24DFZfrom Ontario  agreed…1yr1Y

Because like i said, A criminal or mentally ill person will not care about any gun law or restrictions before shooting a school up. It will only prevent normal people from accessing these weapons.

 @9FK38J2from Ontario  disagreed…2yrs2Y

I think that criminals and the mentally I’ll shouldn’t be in position of guns, additionally, regulations for possessions of funds should also be more enforced

 @9FH39G5from Ontario  agreed…2yrs2Y

Criminals and the mentally I’ll have a higher risk factor when handling firearms compared to a regular responsible gun owner.

 @9LQPV4V from Ontario  disagreed…12mos12MO

You can't tell if someone will end up being a criminal or not. You could be giving a gun to a criminal without even knowing it.

 @9FH8KMZ from Ontario  disagreed…2yrs2Y

As a employee of security industry, gun crimes are not always performed by people involved in criminal activity and mental health illness.

 @9GMR4FHfrom Ontario  disagreed…1yr1Y

there should be a permit and clearance if you have a gun also you can only have a gun that knows how to use it

 @9GJGK5Qfrom Ontario  disagreed…1yr1Y

people should have a gun only if they are well trained, have to defend themselves, and have taken lessons with these types of weapons before. So i do think there should be more restrictions on the current process of purchasing a gun.

 @9F5J5B7from Ontario  disagreed…2yrs2Y

There should be more restrictions on the current process of purchasing a gun for the whole society, not only for criminals and the mentally ill. There is an increase in gun related crime among different ages and social groups. Gun violence becomes a serious issue which affects everyone in the community. There should be strict regulations to strengthen gun control in Canada and prevent crime which affects public safety.
