In the example of Mississauga’s MiWay, the buses are hybrid electric and diesel. That is a good solution.
@9DDB3M22yrs2Y
I dont use public transportation.
@934HG9Q3yrs3Y
I think all vehicles should be hybrid
@8ZGVPWT3yrs3Y
I don't really care about this, I just want a bus to get home with. It will be way too costly if all the public transit vehicles are remodelled, rebuilt and the old ones are simply trashed.

No, it'll just increase pressure on electronic grid. It's a zero sum solution.

Maybe, but aren’t we just kidding ourselves as to how we make the electricity?
Some should run on electrical energy and making all run in electric should be something to work towards
@8VKBY6Y4yrs4Y
Where economically plausible
@8VJV2K2New Democratic4yrs4Y
Yes, but only of the electricity is from a renewable source
@9CTW5VK2yrs2Y
At the moment I feel there needs to be a hybrid system. 60% electric 40% fossil fuels. Until we have come up with a better plan for full electric conversion
@97NRTW82yrs2Y
Only in communities where it would be sufficient.
