they should only rent for 2 years in case they move back to the country of origin or if they are only in Canada for studies

 @9VT9JB3Conservativefrom British Columbia  answered…6mos6MO

Foreigners should not be able to buy un Canada, at least until the housing and rental prices come down for Canadians.

We have a housing problem so currently I'd say yes but in most circumstances I'd think the idea is entirely distopian

 @9K4MLQ8Conservativefrom Ontario  answered…1yr1Y

if they get in trouble put them back on the boat, and i think it should be 3 years to make sure there going to stay.

 @9K29PN7Libertarianfrom Ontario  answered…1yr1Y

I personally don’t think any foreigners should be able to buy any more of our land and housing. We’re in a crisis, and we need to take a serious look at how we got here.

 @9JZV4G6Conservativefrom Ontario  answered…1yr1Y

If you don't live here, stop having that access. If you aren't living here at least 6 months at a time, you cannot buy.

 @9F9MTH2Conservativefrom Ontario  answered…2yrs2Y

I believe that we have to many people and instead of taxing foreigners we should send them back until our country can have reasonable house pricing.

 @9465XV4Conservativefrom Ontario  answered…3yrs3Y

Shouldn't be banned, but controlled since everyone needs a place to live.

Yes, and after the 2 years add a high foreign buyers tax and vacancy taxes

If they have the money for a down payment then great but stop handing the freebies out.

 @8ZQCNP2Conservativefrom Alberta  answered…3yrs3Y

I believe that they need to have obtained citizenship, and be able to pay for it the same as any other Canadian.

 @8Z6NMCNConservativefrom British Columbia  answered…3yrs3Y

Foreigners should be allowed to buy a house in Canada if it is their primary residence. Not if a billionaire in a different country just wants a business opportunity

The housing market is difficult for current residents so bringing in more individuals makes it even harder for those working here and trying to purchase a residence

Yes, if they intend to buy houses solely for the purpose of renting it out. Foreigners should be limited to purchasing a home that they intend to live on.

 @99CTN9BConservativefrom Ontario  answered…2yrs2Y

I think foreigners should be able to buy houses but the government should minimize the amount of immigrants they take in

 @98WT37JConservativefrom British Columbia  answered…2yrs2Y

Foreign Investors who have never lived in Canada should be restricted on buying any real estate

 @98VYNB8Conservativefrom Alberta  answered…2yrs2Y

Citizens of enemy nations (China, Iran, etc.) should be banned from buying any form of property. But if you want to cut housing costs, the solution is removing red tape and cutting approval time so more sub divisions can be built.

 @937VKJNConservativefrom Saskatchewan  answered…3yrs3Y
