Should the government increase spending on public transportation?

I have promoted the use of underground bullet trains as a means to allow low-income families and individuals who cannot afford a home in the city to be able to travel from far distances (hundreds of kilometres) in the time it takes an average person in the city to drive to work so that finding homes and jobs would be made easier through government-funded public transportation.
