I believe it's unfair to allow a transgender woman to compete with biological women when a clear advantage is observed. I believe there should be some method of testing or some sort of procedures in place to determine whether the transgender athlete has an unfair advantage over their peers. At the same time, I really don't think transgendered persons should be banned altogether from athletic competitions- this is discriminatory and invalidating. This is a very tough topic to talk about, however, because I have a lot of trouble finding reliable data on this topic, thus my understanding of hormone therapy and other aspects like the age of starting this therapy and its effects on the body is very weak. I do believe a lot of factors go into determining how people experience transition and the "final" results, and I believe that is something that should be considered when forming a more informed opinion on this topic.
