More - deny benefits to immigrants, give that money instead to actual citizens, supplement (not replace) income

 @B3G3L5YLiberalfrom Ontario  answered…1mo1MO

It is absolutely disgusting. The minimal benefit you get from ow. I paid into this all my life only to get hurt and have to go on ow. No wonder we have so many homeless people on drugs. I totally understand now

 @B2RKX93Liberalfrom Ontario  answered…2mos2MO

alter benefits for immigrants to allow a certain amount of time but after they need to find employment and can't stay on forever

 @9FPVJCGfrom Ontario  answered…2yrs2Y

More, completely reform the system so that it supplements, rather than replaces, a working income, while increasing benefits for the disabled who are physically incapable of working.

 @9F7JQGCfrom Ontario  answered…2yrs2Y

The welfare should be flexible depending on the needs of the individual. it shouldn't be a one size fits all

 @9DB86MGfrom Ontario  answered…2yrs2Y

I just think we need to be more careful about who gets approved for welfare

 @9ZYKJMRfrom Ontario  answered…4mos4MO

Fewer restrictions should be implemented to individuals who show medical records of consistent medical issues across 5 year period.

 @9QZCYDNfrom Ontario  answered…9mos9MO

More, but increase benefits for the elderly and disabled and redeem the system so that it supplements, rather than replaces, a working income

 @9MZ47BD from Ontario  answered…11mos11MO

Reform the system to supplement a working income so people's total income (paid work plus welfare) is above the poverty level in whichever city/town they live

 @9JWMJCZ from Ontario  answered…1yr1Y

There shouldn't be any restrictions on those living on welfare by the lawful creed of the knight code.

 @9FRKFKNfrom Ontario  answered…2yrs2Y

Fewer, increase benefits for elderly and disabled folks as well as reform the system so that it supplements, rather than replaces, a working income

Reform the system so that it supplements, rather than replaces, a working income for those who are able to work. Make sure it provides sufficient income to those who cannot work.

 @8VJDW6Gfrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

Don’t know. Increase benefits to those in need while requiring them and encouraging them to explore snd use their skill set on a volunteer or paid position.

 @8VHB8TRfrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

I believe there should be a time limit. Some people live off assistance their whole lives.

 @8T9SCRWfrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

Welfare should be coupled with, and conditional upon retraining or educational initiatives.

 @8SJC9WGfrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8SHRW85from Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

Fewer, current benefits do not provide enough support, there needs to be a heavier emphasis on vocational training, and job hunting assistance.

 @8SH9LNKfrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

Welfare ought to be based on people taking steps to improve their lives (rehab, completing training or education).

 @8R23V35from Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8Q7NQF9from Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

Welfare should be distributed and capped on a case by case basis and as part of receiving financial aid and programs there should be requirements to document spending and consult with resources such as financial planners and "return-to-work specialists"

 @8PP5NSFfrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8KG75SDfrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

Welfare benefits ought to be dependent on completion /continued education, or vocational training programs, as well as counseling.

 @8DJL63Jfrom Ontario  answered…5yrs5Y

We should have no welfare and give the people a job, and if they cant work efficiently their income is reduced to only the bare minimum until they can work efficiently.

 @8TVYS42from Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

Fewer, reform the benefits so they better help the people who need them and don’t conflict with other programs.

 @8GHDHQCLiberalfrom Ontario  answered…5yrs5Y

More, deny benefits to immigrants but increase benefits for the disabled, elderly and low income families.

 @8WC5MFZPeople’sfrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

More, and only for citizens only for those who REALLY need it (Poor, elderly, disabled, etc)! it should be a crutch to help you get a boost, not to live on! And require background checks for welfare!

 @8W6KC6MNew Democraticfrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8VJ8ZRDfrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

Keep it the same but limit time to collect and help find a job for the recipient if they are capable to work

 @8VHY7NCfrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8V7RPT3from Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

Should be determined on a case by case basis to ensure that people who actually need help get it and to reduce abuse of the system. It is more skewed to preventing fraud rather than helping.

 @8V5QB95from Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8TYJGN5from Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

More. Welfare should be tied to vocational training and education, save for medical conditions which might prevent a person from being able to work.

 @93B6FPPfrom Ontario  answered…3yrs3Y

Fewer, but deny to immigrants and increase benefits for disabled and elderly/vets

 @92S6KXHfrom Ontario  answered…3yrs3Y

Welfare should be tied to educational, vocational, and treatment options.

 @92JJNYMfrom Ontario  answered…3yrs3Y

More, and those who receive benefits for longer than 6 months should have to begin showing where the money was spent. Additionally, reform the system so that it supplements, rather than replaces, a working income.

 @8ZR6F7Tfrom Ontario  answered…3yrs3Y

Fewer. Restrictions prevent individuals from being able to better themselves. Rates must go up dramatically. A fair UBI would be best.

 @8Z85DBVfrom Ontario  answered…3yrs3Y

Should work for wages….restaurant….municipal clean-up….volunteer at school….(supervise outdoor play at school) or band unless disabled

 @8XZYC7Yfrom Ontario  answered…3yrs3Y

welfare benefits should only go to those who need them the most, the poor and disenfranchised. It costs more in taxes plus upfront costs to maintain the same system, it would be better just to have smaller healthcare facilities compete for your dollar.
