Welfare should not be a function of government. It's disgusting and perverted to subsume this role from private people and to remove a community's ability to discriminate against who and what they support

Streamline the welfare system by combining all programs, except those related to pensions & old age security into a Guaranteed Basic Income.

Fewer, however deny benefits to immigrants who are not citizens and those with <10 years worth of citizenship.

Make it easier to get on welfare Don't make people jump through many hoops to get welfare.

 @9JBTHNJfrom Alberta  answered…1yr1Y

Make changes to the system so it is more situational, and will provide adequate help to get them off of welfare in the future.

Fewer, but ensure the payments are generous enough to help, but low enough to not discourage entry into the workforce.

More, but increase for the elderly/disabled. As well as reforming so it supplements rather than replaces working income for able bodied people.

A UBI system would be a better and fairer system than welfare and would be more beneficial for the economy

 @8S6B9RKfrom Alberta  answered…4yrs4Y

Being it’s should be limited to ones contribution, and paid out at 65 to the benefactor

 @8RMZQCSfrom Alberta  answered…4yrs4Y

Regardless, welfare should be phased out and replaced with a universal basic income.

 @8QQRS8Kfrom Alberta  answered…4yrs4Y

Replace with universal basic income. Welfae encourages bad behaviour because its more economical to stay on benthan to work.

Basic living should be a priority for every individual. Programs that assist those who are elderly or disabled should be provided with the tools they need to provide for these individuals.

 @8PKSWWGfrom Alberta  answered…4yrs4Y

fewer restrictions as current benefits do not provide enough support. As well increase benefits for the elderly and disabled while also stopping the penalizing people stuck in between receiving benefits who don't make enough yet, but make something.

More, if recipient is able to, ensure they are actively doing what they need to do to get out of needing welfare. Tailor amount of help to the amount of work they are doing, ranging from nearly everything for necessities to very supplementary

 @9C7D8F9from Alberta  answered…2yrs2Y

Should be there to help those who need it and can’t get by to supplement their wage not those who just sit and abuse it as well their shouldn’t be high income earners in eligible because everyone’s circumstances are different

 @9C6GS8Tfrom Alberta  answered…2yrs2Y

Welfare should be abolished and replaced by a UBI instead. So that everyone gets the benefit despite making just above the poverty line.

 @98TLB6Mfrom Alberta  answered…2yrs2Y

Fewer, but reform the system to be generous enough for people on lower incomes to get by, but also not discourage entry into the workforce.

 @8Y6W43Bfrom Alberta  answered…3yrs3Y

More, but increase benefits for elderly, disabled, and victims of domestic abuse.

 @8XBLRJYLibertarianfrom Alberta  answered…3yrs3Y

Abolish corporate welfare, and other welfare should only go to those who cannot cover basic necessities.
