I think they should regulate political advertising so that political parties are not allowed to release attack ads.

 @B3DCMJ8from Ontario  answered…2mos2MO

It should be up to the social media company to decide what advertising it bans. They are private enterprises and should be allowed freedoms.

No, it is our responsibility to research on proper information and to not let any fake information enter our minds.

No, As long as all political parties are given the same amount of advertising.

 @B3FQDNWfrom Ontario  answered…1mo1MO

No but political advertising should be more focused on their own party’s platform and less about saying how the other parties haven’t provided etc

It depends on the message that they aim to convey. If there is propaganda, that could be a potential risk.

 @9KTQHSCfrom Ontario  answered…1yr1Y

Put a restriction maybe? Or add some sort of TW, once a political add pops up. Not everyone wants to see it nor interested in political ads.

 @9K6M454from Ontario  answered…1yr1Y

There is such thing as freedom of speech, there is none of it when your ideas are not favored by the standard, and that sucks, but it is mostly important to not wreck their reputation either way on a screen.

It must be balanced and informative. No slandering, no tearing down. Just what each party represents, and every party equally represented on each type of media.

No so long as the ad itself is not attacking or belittling another party and or person

No. I believe it's important that we encourage citizens to think about and have an interest in politics. Political advertising shouldn't be banned because it's something that starts political discussion and it can be a way to get people involved in political conversation. However, more needs to be done to empower citizens to be educated and informed on politics. Whenever there ARE political ads, there absolutely needs to be transparency from who/which part or group is paying for/sponsoring these ads. Dishonesty/fake claims also need to be better controlled. People need to be aware of political bias and fake content when they are online (or anywhere).

 @8DKN4K7from Ontario  answered…5yrs5Y

No, the ads should be vetted for misinformation before being distributed.

Allow for Social Media companies to advertise political candidates, yet not allow for misinformation (From opposing parties) and less algorithm based pushed political ads. (E.g. Just Political ads, not pushed towards specific groups based on the media's view or their past searches, statements, etc..)

 @99MWZYPfrom Ontario  answered…2yrs2Y

No, but political advertising must fall under the ad standards for other products

 @998LVGMfrom Ontario  answered…2yrs2Y

As long as both sides are equally represented and transparent, no because it encourages a wider demographic to care about the society they reside in. If political ads follow the same algorithm that other ads follow, then no.
