I believe it's important that we encourage citizens to think about and have an interest in politics. Political advertising shouldn't be banned because it's something that starts political discussion and it can be a way to get people involved in political conversation. However, more needs to be done to empower citizens to be educated and informed on politics. Whenever there ARE political ads, there absolutely needs to be transparency from who/which part or group is paying for/sponsoring these ads. Dishonesty/fake claims also need to be better controlled. People need to be aware of political bias and fake content when they are online (or anywhere).
