In September 2019 the government introduced a plan where prospective home buyers can finance 5-10% of their mortgage via a shared equity program administered by Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC). Households who make $120K or less and put down 5% will qualify for the program which will cost an estimated $1.25 billion.

if you have lived in canada for more then 5 years you should be able to buy as many homes as you wish but if youre not from the country or have been here for less then 5 years you should only be able to own 1 house at a time

Government should check identity of buyers since they bought multiple properties on the identity of their family members. It should be avoided.
Yes and No. A program that allows home buyers to elect to obtain government assistance based on an application process to ensure that home buyers are not purchasing homes outside their means is preferable than blanket subsidies. And the home buyer should be a human being.

Yes, and somehow limit the sales of properties to allow local residents, not rich people from other countries to buy

Only initially, perhaps with a down payment. The home owner needs to be able to carry their housing costs long term.
I don't think the government should have to subsidize home buyers at all. They should restrict home buying/property ownership to Canadian citizens only and stop foreign nationals from owning Canadian land in the first place.

the government should limit the number of homes that can be bought by a single person or corporation
@8P9RP3H4yrs4Y

@8YNQLCC3yrs3Y
No, But the government should limit the number of homes that a single person or Corporation can own.

No. ndividuals making less than $4000 a year need assistance with housing though. The government should limit how many properties a person or corporation can own.
