Athletes should not be divided by gender but instead divided by their weight, height, muscle mass, etc.

 @8CW6SXRNew Democraticfrom Newfoundland  answered…5yrs5Y

Yes, but some athletic organizations need to reassess how athletes are categorized to ensure safety and fairness for all.

Except there's absolutely no evidence that allowing trans women in sports leads to more injury; the evidence usually cited is that Fallon Fox injured another fighter, but serious injuries are not uncommon in martial sports, and many women have been injured and in some cases killed even when no trans women were present.

They should look into other ways to categorize athletes besides gender/sex if in the eyes of those they decide, gender and sex entail a set of specific differences. Perhaps weight class, hormones etc. Should be individually considered outside of gender and sex as these physical differences exists and vary amongst these categories regardless, so to limit someone if they’re transgender based on that principle wouldn’t be entirely preventing biological difference

 @9FX7X7KNew Democraticfrom New Brunswick  answered…2yrs2Y

No, but there should be new categories that benefit transgender athletes, like transgender men categories and transgender women categories, that way everyone can perform.

 @9D4YVYKNew Democraticfrom British Columbia  answered…2yrs2Y

We should remove the gendered aspect of competitive sports somewhat to focus more on skill category than gender. This also allows a better inclusion of non-binary and otherwise gender-diverse people in sports.

 @8TZXVB9from Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

Transgender athletes should not be allowed to compete with members of their identified gender. It is unfortunate but there are vast differences in the physiology of biological men and women that would potentially give transgenders an advantage or disadvantage.

Yes, Athletic Events should now be reorganized by skill level rather than gender or sex.

 @9W58D5GNew Democraticfrom British Columbia  answered…6mos6MO

I feel like transgender athletes have every right to compete. However, we need to make time to decide on new regulations/rules in order to move forward.

 @9VKMP3Gfrom Ontario  answered…6mos6MO

professional sports are chock full of athletes who already have a genetic advantage. The best swimmer in the world has the best genetics for swimming in the first place, that gap cannot be bridged with training no matter what. I believe sports should not be segregated in the first place.

 @9LBPBS7Greenfrom Ontario  answered…1yr1Y

I do not care, if someone wants to play sports, let them play. if the loss of a soccer game ruins your life to the point you wont except someone for who they are then thats your own problem.

 @9TMG6K4from Alberta  answered…7mos7MO

i need to findout more and i think everyone dose at this point in time i think that a women or man (trans) play in the sport of there gender not biological gender.

yes but we should eliminate separating people by gender and bring in separating people by weight class

to an extent, they should but maybe not in major things like the Olympics

 @8QDRPS8New Democraticfrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

No, because usually transgenders convert such external appearance and organs but the internal power and capabilities remain and tend to the original gender either male or female.

Transgender athletes should compete against each other in their own category. It seems that any past or present exposure to androgenous hormones should be relatively compensated for regardless of the current gender of the competitors if this was the case.

 @9B72R54from Ontario  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes but not if they went through the puberty of their sex assigned at birth

 @9B2HZ3Rfrom Ontario  answered…2yrs2Y

They should compete with other transgender athletes. There should be five categories; men, women, trans men and trans women and no binary people.

 @997CMSMfrom Quebec  answered…2yrs2Y

Competition shouldn't be based on sex or gender but on attributes relevant to the competition.

 @98SL5S5New Democraticfrom British Columbia  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes, and if we categorize based on hormone levels then we should have all categories based off hormone levels rather than sex

 @8VXNF4Hfrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

Their should be events that are meant for a transgender man and for a transgender woman

 @94QZMZ4New Democraticfrom Alberta  answered…3yrs3Y

Transgender women (Male to female) should not be able to compete in womens athletics

 @8V7CBJQNew Democraticfrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

yes, however, there may need to be a separate set of games or category. M to F seem to be stronger then cis gender females.

 @96CJFM3New Democraticfrom British Columbia  answered…3yrs3Y

Categorization should be based on hormone level exclusively and gender should be irrelevant.

 @925JSC3New Democraticfrom Ontario  answered…3yrs3Y

Create new categories for them to compete in (like weight classes in boxing) which comes with the side bonus of meeting other people going through the same thing, while promoting social bonds and the development of social skills. This would require some funding for transportation and facility rental.

 @8ZRBY42from Ontario  answered…3yrs3Y

Somewhat conflicted. Don't want to deny anyone's right to participate, but there is a difference between how a biological man or woman perform in sports

 @8Z2Q8HKNew Democraticfrom Ontario  answered…3yrs3Y

Tricky. Yes in general, but no in sports where physical contact or physical prowess is predominant

 @8YP3NYLNew Democraticfrom Alberta  answered…3yrs3Y

It's more complicated than this and needs to be evaluated on a case by case basis. A transgender woman athlete who's been on HRT since puberty cannot be evaluated the same as a transgender woman athlete who started HRT at 25.
