Should transgender athletes be allowed to compete against athletes that differ from their assigned sex at birth?

In 2016 the International Olympic committee ruled that transgender athletes can compete in the Olympics without undergoing sex reassignment surgery. This is a difficult question, but I feel that in extreme cases, an athlete has the opportunity to fake being transgender only to have an upper hand in opposing sport events. I lean towards no.

I do not care, if someone wants to play sports, let them play. if the loss of a soccer game ruins your life to the point you wont except someone for who they are then thats your own problem.

Trans-man (woman to man) should be allowed to compete, but trans-women should depend based on hormone levels because men have higher levels of hormones and different chemicals that make them stronger.

Trans men yes trans women no if they went through male puberty. Trans women have an unfair advantage if they went through male puberty.

Yes, I can only speak to MtF HRT, but going on HRT decreases muscle mass and bone density, thus effectively removing any actual differences. Honestly, I think gender classification should probably just be removed and replaced with just having sports be based on weight classification.

Yes, athletic competition is unfair by nature as it is naturally fuelled not only by training (controllable) but also by biology (uncontrollable). Extremes are present even within the sexes. Athletics should be separated not by gender or sex, but by skill.
