Is it the duty of the government to preserve a nation's traditional values, or should that be left to individuals?

 @9HDWB8Qfrom Ontario  answered…12mos12MO

i think it is both. in order to uphold a tradition there has to be everyones participation to make it possible

Governments and citizens must work together with an emphasis on citizen inclusion

 @9HDP947Liberalanswered…12mos12MO

Maintaining a country's historic values requires striking a balance between the role of the government and personal freedom. Governments support social cohesiveness, national identity, and cultural heritage preservation. They ought to respect society progress and individual liberties, nevertheless. A dynamic and inclusive society may be achieved through a cooperative approach that respects tradition while recognizing social variety and individual liberties.

 @9HD4NRNfrom Ontario  answered…12mos12MO

This should be left to individuals. The government should not be allowed to tell us what traditional values we feel we need to preserve.

How do you think empathy for ‘the other’ can fit into conversations about national policy?

 @9KMDGPJ answered…8mos8MO

We should have empathy for all others but treat all humans the same no matter what their leanings or colour. They should NOT have special rights as this again creates division. Even where applying for jobs—a person should request a number and all interviews should be done as if color blind based on education and experience. With new technology this is possible to do.

Does a focus on strong national borders improve national security, or does it foster unnecessary fear of the 'other'?

 @9HCRSYRPeople’s from Ontario  answered…12mos12MO

A focus on strong national borders is very important and improves national security. Some "xenophobia" is needed for the preservation of our culture. It is a natural response. I am a right-wing populist.
