Should Canada provide military supplies and funding to Ukraine?
On February 24 2022, Russia invaded Ukraine in a major escalation of the Russo-Ukrainian War that began in 2014. The invasion caused Europe's largest refugee crisis since World War II, with around 7.1 million Ukrainians fleeing the country and a third of the population displaced. It has also caused global food shortages.

Are you Ukrainian or are you Canadian? If you are Canadian then why are you giving stuff to people of Ukraine then the people of Canada.
@9ZWK8W44wks4W
Russia will not stop at Ukraine. They have been aggressive towards various other European states, sabotaging power plants and various other misinformation campaigns. We must end the war in Ukraine, to Ukraine's benefit, as quickly as possible (the UDF contributes to the expedited goal). The burden on the average Canadian is relatively low, all things considered. If the war continues and escalates, we will be forced to endure a higher burden which will no doubt include the deaths of many Canadians.
@9FWFKDY1yr1Y
If we do help Unkrain then Russia will be put in there place and maybe just maybe Potin will back off.
https://www.thecollector.com/vladimir-putin-russia-rebuilding-the-soviet-era/ source on rebuilding the soviet union which i beleive would leed to them seizing more and more land until we have to fight.
@ISIDEWITH2yrs2Y
No, we should not get involved in this conflict
@9FWFKDY1yr1Y
If we don't help then there is a chance they won't win and that is an advantage for Russia because if Russia does win then the country is only going to get bigger and we don't want that.
@9FPBM6K1yr1Y
This whole idea of Ukraine keeping every square inch is a fairytale. And you don't have to be "pro Russia" to understand this is all completely ridiculous. I agree Canada and other more developed countries should help when and where we can but this entire Ukraine thing is ridiculous and handled miserably
Russia will want to rebuild the soviet union if they are capable of doing this it seems like a massive issue for europe. After the events of ww1 and ww2 we should offer military aid to countries fighting for their own freedom so that we dont have to sacrifice the lives of our men and women when russia decides it wants more land.
@ISIDEWITH2yrs2Y
Yes, but only provide humanitarian aid
@9LZLWHT8mos8MO
We live like 1,000,000 Km away from them or something and they are not part of north America. We give humanitarian aid to people that go to our country and live there, not to people from Europe. Its not our war too.
@9G7L9ZNConservative1yr1Y
We should be spending money on our own citizens and making sure we can take care of ourselves before others.
@ISIDEWITH2yrs2Y
No, Ukraine should rely on their own resources to defend themselves
@9ZWK8W44wks4W
Ukraine is not in the position to rely on their own resources to defend themselves. Ukraine is not the aggressor, and it is highly important that we send aid and prevent further disaster since Ukraine will not be able to defend themselves on their own. We must act against Russia, considering they are now an active enemy of the West and have proven consistently that they do not care for international law. We must act in the defense of Ukraine to prevent further geopolitical disaster in Europe. It is not a desirable situation for us to be sending resources, however, it is imperative that we come to the aid of our Western allies when they cannot fully defend themselves with their resources.
@ISIDEWITH2yrs2Y
No, we cannot afford to give military resources right now
@B24MVPR2wks2W
Either we pay for Ukraine to fight Russia now or we pay with blood when they attack NATO countries and we have to fight WW3.
@ISIDEWITH2yrs2Y
Yes, but decrease the current amount of resources we are providing
@9LZLWHT8mos8MO
We should just not give anything to them. Besides didn't Russia make the AK47? These guys are smart with military weapons and they showed videos about the weapons too like the drones. So it would be wasting resources to Ukraine.
@9FPBM6K1yr1Y
We need to negotiate an ending and stop all the deaths from both sides. A deal was made in the beginning but the USA and EU got involved to benefit the military industrial complex and try to make Russia's military weaker. Meanwhile Russia now has everything they wanted, thousands dead and millions are displaced across the world with their lives ruined or completely changed.
@9RKDWR45mos5MO
NATO provoked the war with Russian, so at this point we are obligated, but we never should have allowed NATO to provoke this war. Blood is on every NATO country’s hands
@B23CRQ32wks2W
No, Ukraine has shown to be corrupt, racist, anti-Jewish sentiment and allows Neo-Nazis into their military, we should not have relations with them until they eliminte Neo-Nazi groups.
@9WYDMSD2mos2MO
No, Ukraine should rely on their own resources and should pay us back with interest on all the aid we have given them since 2014.
@9WKCQFT2mos2MO
We have so many problems here. We have given enough to other nations. It’s time to look after our own problems.
@9VPGMP83mos3MO
Yes, as long as the military supplies is leftover equipment and it doesn't affect the CAF's military stockpile
@ISIDEWITH3mos3MO
If you were an international decision-maker, how would you weigh the controversies of taking sides in a foreign war or conflict?
@9WSVFNV2mos2MO
You'd have to think about if you'd be targeted and pull into a war or seen as a enime even if you want to stay nutural and just want to support weaker areas.
@9SLJBJV4mos4MO
We cannot afford the military and economic resources…our current support has left our own military vulnerable
@9R2QTDQ5mos5MO
Yes, but we have to focus on our people first and if we can save resources and send it their way we will have happy people and happy international relations. It's a win-win
@9QZCYDN5mos5MO
I think we should provide humanitarian and economic aid, but less military aid. Additionally, decrease overall spending but don't cut it out entirely
I think that we should send what support we can without draining our own resources and at the expense of our own citizens
canada should go to war weith ukraine
@9FJWGHV1yr1Y
Yes, but we should try to push for an armistice.
@9FHRJ8T1yr1Y
We need to take care of Canadians first. So many homeless and senior care is horrible
Yes but only if the country is willing to full commit to the conflict
@9F8WSCC1yr1Y
yes, but not too much where it's causing a problem for us
@9DSJG321yr1Y
Yes as long as we can replace those supplies
@9D6KK9V1yr1Y
No, choosing a side will only turn this conflict into a proxy war and further raise tensions between nato and Russia. Diplomatic action between both nations should be the only response of countries not involved.
@9JWMJCZ 10mos10MO
We'll send medical aid and food supplies to Ukraine if needed (humanitarian aid). By legal rights we will help out a country in need, just as we helped out the USA when they needed backup. By lawful creed of the knight order.
@9JLF2GL11mos11MO
we should send humanitarian aid, we cannot afford to give military resources right now and also should not get involved in this conflict.
@9HQ3JMV1yr1Y
Provide current Canadian Forces equipment to the Ukrainian military and replace depleted stocks with new, modern equipment
@9HV5QFW12mos12MO
No, we should not be fighting World War III against Russia. Russia is not our enemy, the United States is.
@9CBKZDD2yrs2Y
Yes, but only defensive weapons and we need to balance sending resources with our own stock
@9C8N9GZ2yrs2Y
I don't think we need to make another Pakistan.
@9C5HND82yrs2Y
no we shouldn't get involved.
@9C4DY4K2yrs2Y
Yes, but we increase medical support but decrease the military support
@9B495WX2yrs2Y
Yes, but there should be a proper budget for it.
@9CFWYG82yrs2Y
No, we should be sending equipment to Russia instead.
@99Q94JZ2yrs2Y
Yes, but don't get too involved in the conflict
@96HRZF5Rhinoceros2yrs2Y
Yes. And military assistance
@95WMMMT2yrs2Y
Yes, but not at the cost of our own military
@95J6CZT2yrs2Y
Survival and medical supplies only, not military aid.
@95CBBBT2yrs2Y
We should put our country first in our spending, not other countries when parts of ours are in desperate need of it.
@98PZ29GConservative2yrs2Y
we should slack back and focus on out own country first.
@98HLJHB2yrs2Y
Yes, but also push for a Win-Win negotiated peace
Yes. Ukraine is in need of it, but we should also do it to keep conflict from spreading in to NATO member territory, and preventing WWIII. It's also good to do for economic stability, as we need to make sure that we can play a role in a peaceful outcome/de-escalation which helps bring society and markets back to a greater stability.
@98BXJ5J2yrs2Y
It's because of our interference that caused it and now doing more makes it worse for Ukraine than it would of been.
@97WDKK82yrs2Y
No, we should remain isolationist and Ukraine should rely on their own resources to defend themselves. We should not get involved in this conflict
@97T4JZCConservative2yrs2Y
Normally, yes, for humanitarian aid and some military supplies, but we can't afford it right now. And as long as we don't send our troops
@95D5GLS2yrs2Y
I don’t really care it doesn’t really affect me so sure I guess might aswell help
@95CZ6XV2yrs2Y
Yes but if that so they should do it even to other countries that are in war.
Deleted2yrs2Y
@7YY64YV2yrs2Y
Yes, but only military supplies and they must be either returned or repaid.
