More to how many refugees we let in the country, if we can’t solve the homeless crisis and people in poverty and make life better for those people who live in our country. Why should I pay taxes to house, clothed and feed refugees when we can’t even help our own citizens in need a

 @B4PDCFRfrom British Columbia  commented…2 days2D

Because research shows that a refugee is more likely to succeed with little help, while a homeless person will go back to the streets and drugs even after receiving all the help in the world they could prossibly get.

Immigrants should get a background check, but it should be easier to accept refugees fleeing from war torn countries. They could receive additional background checks throughout their time in canada to ensure they are including themselves in society.

 @9SH6DQRCommunistfrom Ontario  answered…8mos8MO

Yes, but have more refugees and make sure the infrastructure and jobs are present for incoming immigrants

 @9L3MN22New Democraticfrom British Columbia  answered…1yr1Y

I don’t have a problem with our immigration policy. I think it’s cruel for anyone to try and survive in our current cost of living crisis. Immigrants would have better chances elsewhere same as citizens

 @9HQVD3Cfrom Ontario  answered…1yr1Y

right now I think they need to slow down and rework the program that will probably support new comers before bringing them in and having them live on the streets

 @9F6VT7Zfrom Ontario  answered…2yrs2Y

No, but ensure immigrants have the resources they need to have good quality of life here first

 @9FR98BTfrom Ontario  answered…2yrs2Y

yes, people who have been canadian citizens since birth are struggling to find jobs that aren't being done by immigrants

Yes, but there should be a probationary period coming into the country. The government should also be taking care of it’s own people first, especially indigenous reservations that STILL have no running hydro which means no water yet they fork out so much money to support immigrants.

 @8VVRL5Mfrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

Would prefer a safe location for immigrants, but also to ensure our homeless population is taken care of first

 @8VTY833New Democraticfrom Manitoba  answered…4yrs4Y

We shouldn’t let our corporations keep indentured servants who can’t quit the job they came here to do in order to live here if they have also decided that the way in which we let people immigrate here is wrong.

 @8VH26PMfrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

I want us to accept refugees, but to reconsider the number of economic migrants we accept.

No, accept anyone who is fleeing a situation that threatens having a basic quality of life, who is not a violent criminal, and who intends to accept and contribute the new society they are to join.

 @8KJM4TXfrom British Columbia  answered…4yrs4Y

No but we should be monitoring how this is affecting the current state of communities. Is it increasing the quality of like or decreasing it? At this time, I feel our current policy is sufficient, but I wouldn’t want it to get out of control

 @8JT4TBZfrom British Columbia  answered…4yrs4Y

Monitor everyone, including citizens, background checks, allow everyone in

 @8F5PK2Sfrom British Columbia  answered…5yrs5Y

Make the process easier for skilled workers and enforce a higher standard of english requirement.

Should be based on basic human empathy and compassion but the day the government does that is the day I marry Jake Gyllenhaal so

 @9BHM3FQfrom Ontario  answered…2yrs2Y

Have a test that Doctors, nurses and others can take to qualify in Canada.

 @9B756C3from Ontario  answered…2yrs2Y

I think the policy should not be stricter in a criminal sense but in a moral sense. Like if they were allowed to vote right away I would want them to have proper morals.

 @98TXC9Cfrom British Columbia  answered…2yrs2Y

Time wise, things should be sped up, i've heard of immigrants waiting to much time to enter the country which could put them in danger in certain situations.

 @98Q2TM7from Ontario  answered…2yrs2Y

No but we shouldn't be funding their lives here and not helping our own people

 @958TX4Jfrom Alberta  answered…3yrs3Y

No, but the government should filter and try to benefit our economy in as many ways as possible.

 @943PG5Yfrom British Columbia  answered…3yrs3Y

Yes, but make it more about testing people's morals and beliefs; the high number of attacks on women and LGBTQ people from Religious immigrant men is unacceptable.
