Banning firearms for people convicted of violent crimes makes sense and should be fully enforced. Restricting the use of firearms for law abiding hunters/sport shooters isn’t going to help the current crime stats and firearms being smuggled in by criminals.

Most crime by guns in Canada isn’t legal gun owners and on average they commit less Crime than the average RCMP officer, not to mention making a problem out of the law abiding citizen will only foster content. Also most people making the gun laws know next to nothing about guns to begin with.
People who feel the need to own guns either want them for safety, or recreational use such as hunting. Hunting can be done with alternatives not as lethal as guns. Our country alsos strict laws against violence, on top of police who are there to protect citizens

People using guns for violence and crimes aren't buying them legally so making it harder to buy guns helps no one, and self protection should be allowed because as the laws are right now People aren't allowed to defend themselves in any way that would work against someone with a gun.

We are not the states. It is not as easy as people think to purchase firearms in canada. Background and mental health checks already in place.

Guns don’t kill people. People kill people. As long as we have the right people getting guns then there is no problem. Banning guns will only make a black market making it easier for people who shouldn’t have guns to get them

People should be allowed to purchase weapons to defend themselves and their property, along with going hunting.

Gun control is a spectrum. We've had gun control for decades already. Bans don't work with the USA as our neighbour & 3D printing becoming more popular. The OIC bans which were passed after the Halifax incident would not have affected the Halifax incident at all.

With a proper criminal record check showing no violent crimes. Someone who passes the criminal record check and a comprehensive gun handling course, individuals should be able to own and use whatever weapon they are qualified to use.
