Public transportation in Canada is running very well, which is helping several residence and giving employment to many people, If the public transportation will be privatize then it may result in increase in fare and people will start buying car which will also increase pollution.

 @9FJ7H4Kfrom Ontario  disagreed…1yr1Y

Privatization will hurt the public because of increase of transit fares, rather than putting their interest in public citizens.

 @9FDK9FZfrom British Columbia  disagreed…1yr1Y

My best counterargument to the No is that we should privatize more public transportation services because the cost is too high.

 @9FGC3D6from Alberta  disagreed…1yr1Y

Government should increase their funding and servicing for the public transportation, that helps city and people's running life easily.

 @9FGKHQNNew Democraticfrom Alberta  disagreed…1yr1Y

That is definitely not a great idea since many people who have to use public transport are typically unable to afford their own transportation. with that being said, it would result in more public transport methods to increase in price.

 @9FD7RC5from Ontario  disagreed…1yr1Y

Public transportation shoiuld be an affordable form of transportation for people who cannot afford their own way of transport.

 @9FFVY96from Manitoba  disagreed…1yr1Y

Public transportation gives cheaper public transportations, people can transport easily and it helps economics

 @9JXX4W9Greenfrom British Columbia  disagreed…10mos10MO

individuals that cannot afford any personal means of transportation can use free public transportation to do basic daily tasks/needs such as, getting a ride to work/school, buying groceries, medical appointments, taking their child to daycare, ect. this way, people who may not have enough currency to do basic tasks can still get around, at no expence.

 @9H5LMMDfrom Ontario  disagreed…1yr1Y

In major cities like Ottawa and Toronto thousands of people use public transit each and every day and by making more public you give people freedom and trust in the government.

 @9F9W86Sfrom British Columbia  disagreed…1yr1Y

we should have more transportation buses and other thing so we can get around and also there will be more buses so we don't have to wait along time to wait for them

 @9F9SPTHfrom Alberta  disagreed…1yr1Y

I think that they should make public transport more free for people especially the people that cannot drive and that's there only transportation

 @9F9HZR2from Ontario  disagreed…1yr1Y

most people dont have money for privatiized transportation so just dont make it privatized cause it stupid

 @9F8N2JNfrom Ontario  disagreed…1yr1Y

i think we shouldn't privatize more public transportation but rather increase the amount of transportation

 @9F8CXRCfrom Ontario  disagreed…1yr1Y

Private transport would be way too expensive for some individuals. Additionally, there would not be a similar amount of expenditure. Everybody would have their own prices.

 @9F8CCTCfrom Alberta  disagreed…1yr1Y

It is too inefficient and the infrastructure required for certain modes of public transportation can only realistically be run by governments

 @9F7HYHJfrom Ontario  disagreed…1yr1Y

Public transportation is a public service and is required for a healthy, free, and capable population.

 @9F8CBYQfrom Ontario  disagreed…1yr1Y

A growing nation like Canada needs an increase in infrastructure spending which includes public transportation. How else would you get more people to move from A to B if the number of buses or subway trains remain the same? An increase in public transportation spending will also boost the economy because now that people can easily move around, they can spread their spending towards places that normally don't get much foot traffic.

 @9F8BGQ9from British Columbia  disagreed…1yr1Y

If public transit was private then many companies would be split up with different routes and systems. It needs to be organized and centralized by one group, for maximum efficiency and price balance.

 @9FGPSTVfrom Ontario  disagreed…1yr1Y

Public transportation should be done without holding a city hostage for 11 years! Allowing a Private company to do this means nothing is done with quality. We need quality people to build public transportation and stop being incompetent.

 @9FFLK4Nfrom British Columbia  disagreed…1yr1Y

If we privatize public transportation the fares will likely rise. They would not be good competition because big companies would buy all the city contracts. That would likely result in oligopolies.

 @9FC85B8from Ontario  disagreed…1yr1Y

public transport is not profitable on it's own meaning that private companies will not invest in transit, however transit has great secondary economic benefits

 @9FB3GY3from Ontario  disagreed…1yr1Y

Private transportation services primarily exist to generate profits, while public transportation's primary purpose should be to provide free and easily accessible transportation to everyone.

Private transportation services are often associated with reduced worker wages, diminished equipment maintenance, decreased accessibility, and a decline in overall quality.
These issues arise from the profit-driven nature of private transportation corporations, which prioritize maximizing their earnings. Consequently, they allocate fewer resources to provide fair wages to their employees, maintain their equipment, and keep transportation affordable for the public, thereby limiting its accessibility to the general population.

 @Aayush-Sonifrom Ontario  disagreed…1yr1Y

Public transportation is helpful as long as it is not much costly, less populated, safe and healthy. Privatizing can effect the public transportation to become more costly, populated and unhealthy too.

 @9FD56LKfrom Ontario  disagreed…1yr1Y

What if privatized Public Transportation Systems, abuse the payment, time, and risk the lives of the passengers.

 @9FDPCWFfrom British Columbia  disagreed…1yr1Y

 @9GGP9XWfrom Ontario  disagreed…1yr1Y

Public transportation is fine the way it is but if the buses keep running on only gas then the pollution will increase.
