Yes for improving in specific areas like rural areas, or senior dense areas and making it eco friendly as well. Doesnt

 @B33SYZQfrom British Columbia  answered…2mos2MO

Yes we need to focus more on canada wide public transportation like trains. And less on highways. Tmwe need to be more proactive instead of always trying to catch up with the current needs. Canada is so far behind when it come to effective public transportation

 @9VW5KW2Conservativefrom British Columbia  answered…6mos6MO

It depends, I think densification of cities and towns would make increased public transit more feasible in Canada. Until then public transport is not a great means of transportation.

 @9VG7P4VConservativefrom British Columbia  answered…7mos7MO

Yes, by adding more routes and hours of service. We don't live in a 9-5 society anymore and our public transportation should reflect that

 @9FHCTXZfrom British Columbia  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes, but only if the spending goes to be more efficient and effective transportation, improving the different transport systems in cities that need it the most.

 @9FGSKLL from British Columbia  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes, and provide more free public transportation, as well as if the spending goes towards environmentally friendly solutions

  @Matthew-Nfrom British Columbia  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes, and provide more free public transportation, as well as make the spending going towards environmentally friendly solutions.

 @9FFQH2Vfrom British Columbia  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes, should increase spending on developing public transportation's technology

 @9FDTWFRfrom British Columbia  answered…2yrs2Y

No, I am satisfied with the current amount of spending and recommend more free public transportation

 @9F8FTKFfrom British Columbia  answered…2yrs2Y

 @9F85RJGfrom British Columbia  answered…2yrs2Y

yes and less stinky busses also translink add compass card to apple pay pls

 @9T4MVBSIndependentfrom British Columbia  answered…7mos7MO

Yes, however I think the focus should be on things like public bikes and scooters, rather than buses and trains for a healthier Canada.

 @9SBG9PTfrom British Columbia  answered…8mos8MO

Better spending based on usage. Why are we building a route to Langley before ubc!? Transit should be run more like a business and help those who use it most

 @95QSS2JLiberalfrom British Columbia  answered…3yrs3Y

 @95K5YQGfrom British Columbia  answered…3yrs3Y

Yes, it's clear that Canada's cities are going to need investments in transit, and we're going to need this infrastructure to be built as our planet is warming, and we need to reduce our overall CO2 emissions from transportation as much as possible. EVs and fuel-efficient cars can only do so much, but they don't work for everyone as cars are often a big expense for many people.

 @958MNJXfrom British Columbia  answered…3yrs3Y

 @958GW64from British Columbia  answered…3yrs3Y

yes and improve bike lanes pedestrian walk ways and especially safety from cars

 @956XVNYGreenfrom British Columbia  answered…3yrs3Y

 @8Z5KNTPfrom British Columbia  answered…3yrs3Y

Yes, but only if it goes towards environmentally friendly solutions. But we should also spend more money on better things

 @8VXZF2Ffrom British Columbia  answered…4yrs4Y

yes, only if they increase free transportation and provide transportation that's safer for the enviroment.

 @8VW6JQVConservativefrom British Columbia  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8VTKCGVfrom British Columbia  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8VSTMS8from British Columbia  answered…4yrs4Y

I'm sure BC is different, but TransLink is Terrible. We need to completely rework our transport. There is so much money going in, but only paying for the people at the top. The tax money spent on it is more than wasted. The amount put in, we should have extended from Vancouver to mission years ago, it's just starting now.

This is a complicated issue and should be considered for different questioning/ wording in the future.

 @8VQJG5Hfrom British Columbia  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes, more free public transportation, including the addition of more environmentally friendly options such as bike lanes.

 @8VMWV7LNew Democraticfrom British Columbia  answered…4yrs4Y

I think the government should increase spending at high density populations but decrease spending on low density populations.

 @8VFBZXYfrom British Columbia  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8V99D27from British Columbia  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes. Canada lags most developed nations in the accessibility to public transportation, plus it will help reduce GHGs.

 @8V8L4X3from British Columbia  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes but not at the expense of reduction in infrastructure. We need more highways for vehicles. Transport goods to keep costs down.

 @8V5G96Pfrom British Columbia  answered…4yrs4Y

Bc transit is a joke. But public transport should be made accessible to every one and chea, but should also receive less funds

 @8TZ7J3Dfrom British Columbia  answered…4yrs4Y

I support increased public transportation, but this is mostly contingent on the city layout facilitating public transportation. Designing roads for cars, and generally making cities hard to traverse as a pedestrian, and then spending money on public transportation ill-suited for the existing infrastructure, sounds like dumping money down the toilet to me.

 @8TYQGSCfrom British Columbia  answered…4yrs4Y

I think that we need a bullet train that uses electro magnets running like a tree east to west across Canada. It could be used by canada post, shipping companies, and for passenger rides. Its would fix a large part of the labour shortages

 @8TY2YD2from British Columbia  answered…4yrs4Y

No, and provide more free transportation but only if the spending goes towards environmentally friendly solutions and we should reduce current spending that is unnecessary we should not privatize and is no longer relevant and out of question

 @8TVXHQWfrom British Columbia  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes, but consider ways to reduce wasteful spending in public systems as part of this strategy. Yes more public transportation but less redundant admin. Should work in tandem

 @8TTNR44Conservativefrom British Columbia  answered…4yrs4Y

Any and all busing that pertains to elementary, middle & secondary should be free as it use to be for many years

 @8TRZKDRfrom British Columbia  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8TRG7PQfrom British Columbia  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8TQTW27New Democraticfrom British Columbia  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes, but direct spending towards environmentally friendly solutions and provide more free public transportation

 @8TMKPJQfrom British Columbia  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8TM94Q8from British Columbia  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8S29WLWfrom British Columbia  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes, if the funding goes to environmental friendly solutions and more free public transportation

 @shaelynjfrom British Columbia  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8RGDSB3from British Columbia  answered…4yrs4Y

i really like how public transportation is right now and i think they are doing a very good job

 @8QW8BGRfrom British Columbia  answered…4yrs4Y

If there wasn't covid-19 then maybe they could, but though since we are in the covid-19 pandemic, we shouldn't right now.

 @8PDW8TZfrom British Columbia  answered…4yrs4Y

Make it a situation so that people do not need to depend on public transportation as much

Reduce costs, increase rider ship. Why do they need to spend more!? What is the long-term plan!?

 @8KLY3PNfrom British Columbia  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes, if it is put towards making public transport more efficient and safe for the driver, bus cleaning crew, and public

 @8KJ9TXKfrom British Columbia  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8JW7JG5from British Columbia  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes, again cut government employee wages and get rid of useless bike lanes. As that is a complete waste of Canadian citizen money and put it into better public transit

 @8JQ2NL2from British Columbia  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8J42XT4from British Columbia  answered…5yrs5Y

we are already billions of dollars in debt so unless it is important based on the city then no

 @8HZ63Z5from British Columbia  answered…5yrs5Y

 @8HSZ7HHfrom British Columbia  answered…5yrs5Y

As I don't use public transport, it would be unfair for me to judge whether it is needed or not

 @8HC8FSKfrom British Columbia  answered…5yrs5Y

Yes, it should be free or at least subsidized for everybody and environmentally friendly

 @8H576DVfrom British Columbia  answered…5yrs5Y

Yes on more environmentally friendly ferry services. More frequent trips and/or additional ferries need to be seriously looked at especially to the Sunshine Coast.

 @8GK7H7Dfrom British Columbia  answered…5yrs5Y

Yes, but not by large amounts until our national debt has been somewhat reduced

 @8G7FYT4from British Columbia  answered…5yrs5Y

 @8G4D2W5Conservativefrom British Columbia  answered…5yrs5Y

No, and current spending should be diverted to energy and environmentally friendly solutions.

 @8DN9QDDNew Democraticfrom British Columbia  answered…5yrs5Y

We must address the aging ferry issues. They provide the necessary link between mainland and islands in emergency situations. Passenger ferry to Vancouver Island a must

 @8DFYFDKfrom British Columbia  answered…5yrs5Y

No, government need to survey citizens to determine if public transportation meets the public's needs and what may need changing.

 @9D36K4QLiberalfrom British Columbia  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes, but make sure that the city also has the funds to meet it's end of the deal, so that the federal government doesn't have to step in as often, although good transit is in the national interest.

 @95J396Xfrom British Columbia  answered…3yrs3Y

 @93KJD86from British Columbia  answered…3yrs3Y

My government should be taking all the taxes they get from the gas and making my driving commute to work more pleasurable.

 @8SCKB7Wfrom British Columbia  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8Q7KDKNfrom British Columbia  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes, invest in greener technology and provide more free public transportation

 @8PWLPJSfrom British Columbia  answered…4yrs4Y

No. However, it depends upon locations. For heavily populated area, public transportation should be funded. But it doesn't make logic sense for rural area to have expensive public transportation simply because the population won't support such spending.

 @8H4NMP6from British Columbia  answered…5yrs5Y

Yes, and we should add more commuting systems that aren't highway reliant

 @8GXZGKGfrom British Columbia  answered…5yrs5Y

Yes, and provide more free public transportation AND make more environmentally friendly

 @8GRFZ9Jfrom British Columbia  answered…5yrs5Y

Yes, if more environmentally friendly and yes, if low income or youth don't have to pay

 @99VHYG9from British Columbia  answered…2yrs2Y

 @99RW2K5from British Columbia  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes, but only by a little bit. I think that the current cost for children (under 16 years of age, when the majority don't have jobs but need to get home from school anyway.) should be lowered by $0.50-$1.00. I also noticed inefficiency in my city's bus system, meaning that the bus just doesn't show up half the time.

 @99B33NMfrom British Columbia  answered…2yrs2Y

As long as it doesn't effect people who don't use it. i.e Vancouver area increasing their bc line people in the northeast region should not have to pay taxes for this.

 @98TXC9Cfrom British Columbia  answered…2yrs2Y

 @97V9T3Vfrom British Columbia  answered…2yrs2Y

 @969T38Qfrom British Columbia  answered…3yrs3Y

i think our busses are pretty good as they are maybe a few more and always nice drivers!

 @98FPFSYLiberalfrom British Columbia  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes. It's abundantly clear that Canada is going to need more good-quality public transit in the coming years, as our cities will grow but we also need to combat the additional challenges of climate change and rising GHG emissions within cities, which are a problem as most Canadians do live within or just outside of a major city.
