We should be allowed more plastic because they provide ease of life. we should however increase fines for littering and unnecessary usage/wastage of them.

 @9G2NHPFfrom Ontario  disagreed…1yr1Y

No we should not be allowed more plastic because it is bad for the environment and it causes tons of pollution. Tons of people throw plastic in the ocean and it endangers the animals in the water and it restricts their movement..

For whatever reason, the world has focused on plastic straws, not sure why. We are surrounded by plastic daily, we often don't think about the absurdity of it. Focusing on my surroundings and counting the plastic items makes me sick. I think about where all these items have come from and how they will end up in a landfill or even the ocean one day. If you do not see the issue behind this, then you need to spend more time outside.

It is very clear how global warming is becoming a major issue, simply stop the use of plastic all together as it is only making everything worse

 @B2B9LQCfrom Alberta  agreed…3mos3MO

paper straws reduce the amount of plastics and garbage in the world by being biodegradable. which makes them very much reuseable

Our Earth is already coming to be at the warmest Earth has ever been in the last 40,000 years. Changing the material of our products is one way to help decrease those green house gas emissions and pollution.

you don't have to agree with me, I'm just gonna drink from a straw that doesn't turn into mush in my mouth

The oceans. Individuals can recycle as much as they want, it makes very little difference unless we force the big companies to change their ways. We need to make laws that force change so our planet can prosper. Even if there is a raised cost I’m willing to spend it for the sake of the generations that will follow us

 @9LZHJVDfrom Saskatchewan  disagreed…11mos11MO

Agree that if ban plastic would cost a lot financially and rather give a harder time looking at prices when shopping, but the cost of over using plastic as in right now is way more expensive environmentally and in long-term health problems.

 @9LYYTG6from Missouri  disagreed…11mos11MO

Plastic has and will continue to disrupt and ruin the environment. We won't have a home if plastic isn't lessened or banned.

It would be too expensive, and it would be even harmful to the environment as per right now as we would need to cut down trees to make environmentally friendly products.

 @9GSCMJSfrom British Columbia  disagreed…1yr1Y

if we continue to use plastic that aren't biodegradable then the planet will continue to slowly break down and die. we need to make safe products for the planet so that we can set a better future for generations to come.

 @9FV8LKFConservativefrom Alberta  disagreed…2yrs2Y

plastic bags contain a variety of toxic and harmful chemicals that not only affect the environment but can also affect how our bodies function.

 @9FN7N29from Ontario  agreed…2yrs2Y

Statistics show that by 2025, about 250 million metric tons of plastic will likely enter the ocean. This is terrible as there are many sea animals that can be at risk to dying due to all this plastic.

 @9F6CQTQfrom Ontario  disagreed…2yrs2Y

In my opinion, Plastic products (cups, plates, and cutlery) that contain less than 50% of biodegradable material should be banned to protect our environment. All plastic products should be eco-friendly; 100% biodegradable.
Also, Provide incentives to businesses that produce or use plastic to encourage them to produce more recyclable and biodegradable goods.

 @9FPNXT5from Ontario  disagreed…2yrs2Y

I think plastic products with less than 50% biodegradable material should definitely be banned. We are in a climate crisis right now and big companies need to take action immediately.

 @9G9SPWJfrom Ontario  disagreed…1yr1Y

We shouldn't ban plastic products because it would cost too much for everyone and raise costs of everything.

 @9G7DMZ7from Alberta  agreed…1yr1Y

It will kill the trees, we need trees to live. Turtles and other creatures live and die it’s called nature.

 @9G6KB5BNew Democraticfrom British Columbia  disagreed…1yr1Y

plastic is only helping the people by making their lives easier but its hurting the environment the waters, animals. its a huge contribute of pollination. paper\cardboard is bio degradable and wont do harm on animals. animals think that little pieces of plastic are food or the thing that holds together the cans get around their necks and they suffocate or get stuck and die. animals are slowly going extinct all to make our lives a little bit for easier its not fair.

 @9G4YHVXfrom Alberta  disagreed…1yr1Y

Although plastic is extremely damaging to the , until we have a material that is pretty much the same, just more eco friendly, plastic should not be banned. I aint trying to drink out of a paper straw.
