The CBC should be made independent and if not than the tax payer should have more influence over the institution than the government.

NO CBC is so incredibly biased in some topics its after spreading misinformation about the aquaculture industry. If people are going to be informed they should have access to unbiased reporting of events.

 @9RBZZMBfrom Ontario  answered…9mos9MO

Yes, but their journalistic practises and programming mandates need to be reformed along with a change in leadership

 @9QW7TQZfrom Ontario  answered…9mos9MO

Yes, but tie the news to independent Bipartisan fact checkers to make sure its not being used to make propaganda.

 @B2J775Mfrom Ontario  answered…3mos3MO

No, their funding should be set in the charter, and a large consensus must be reached to change. Public media is critical but should be wholly non-partisan.

 @B2H2BPLfrom Ontario  answered…3mos3MO

No, their funding should be set in the charter and require a large consensus to change. Public media is critical, but should be wholly non-partisan.

 @96QP3KDfrom Ontario  answered…2yrs2Y

CBC is a corporate propoganda machine, this question is irrelelevent because they would never get rid of it

 @95CVF2Bfrom Ontario  answered…3yrs3Y

 @92S6KXHfrom Ontario  answered…3yrs3Y

Funding of the CBC should be transferred to the provinces to ensure unbiased media coverage.

 @8ZX3GXZConservativefrom Ontario  answered…3yrs3Y

No, and significantly reform the institution to be politically unbiased and relevant

 @8ZTSR7Dfrom Ontario  answered…3yrs3Y

The CBC ties our country together. It should be less tied to the government of the day for budgets and board members.

 @8ZSJL5Bfrom Ontario  answered…3yrs3Y

Regardless, defund, audit and prosecute the CBC for lying to the public and telling fake stories and ensure they only report facts and not biased journalism for one side or another and then restore funding only after they hire new journalists that will only report real news, not fake news.

 @8ZMNT3Sfrom Ontario  answered…3yrs3Y

 @8Z9SMSSfrom Ontario  answered…3yrs3Y

I think finding should remain the same, and a third party needs to review the entire organization for any biases. This is our national broadcaster…they don’t get to show biases between political parties. Their reporting should be neutral, and leave the social justice stuff to the other, private news agencies. I’m sorry but the national news site should not be allowed to have a view on any legislation. Sadly, CBC seems to always favour the left (even extreme left), and denounces the right

 @8Z7DWC9from Ontario  answered…3yrs3Y

Only after an audit and assurance that broadcasters will be non-partisan and will only report the facts should the government increase funding

 @8XXXYKSfrom Ontario  answered…3yrs3Y

 @8XCDZYTfrom Ontario  answered…3yrs3Y

Yes, but only after an audit and if they agree to have fairness and non-biased news.

 @8VTCRZCfrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8VT249Yfrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes, however it ought to be entirely non-partisan and report what the public needs to hear, not what government wants the public to hear.

 @8VSS6S5from Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8VKN3MJfrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

Depends. Will the CBC continue to be a mouthpiece for the existing government, or return to its independent programming?

 @8VJ3D9Dfrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

Independent and unbiased journalism is essential. Corporate media is too biased and doesn't give us a full picture of what's happening in the world. I'd like to see more funding for this type of journalism in the CBC, and not more funding for the executives.

 @8V95QN2from Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes, but only after auditing and insurance that they will not exhibit any political beliefs and only report the facts, not opinion.

 @8V5XZJ9from Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

 @Kerrnelfrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

Funding should be contingent on quantity and quality of Canadian-based programming; maybe increase the budget funding that programming.

 @8TRPMHXfrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

I am unsure at this moment/ don’t have enough information to formulate an opinion

 @8TNDXCTfrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8TJ6T6Qfrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

No, broadcasting stations will have a bias if they are government funded

 @8THBJS6from Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

  @8TFVW57New Democraticfrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8TF629Dfrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

Review their funding and order them to remove anchors who are biased and then increase funding only if they are made independent

 @8T88Q9Qfrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

Only for CBC Radio. CBC Television repeatedly fails to meet its mandate and is now no longer available OTA. CBC Television should be defunded entirely and the staffs required to take a pay cut and apologize to the Canadian public.

 @8T66NK9from Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

The CBC needs to prove that it’s still relevant before we talk about funding

 @8T452LXfrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

all media conglomerates should work on their profits, not government funding.

 @8T2D59Hfrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

either leave the funding at the amount it is at or increase it by a small amount.

 @8SVJD4Nfrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

Regardless, CBC needs to become more useful before more funding is introduced

 @8SH9LNKfrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

The government should not be funding any media due to recent conflicts of interest.

 @8S8V23Ffrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8RWBHS3from Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes, but only when we ensure that they are reporting just the facts and are bias free and non-partisan and do not engage in personal politics.

 @8RQTCTZLiberalfrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes, I think it’s important to have writers and proper news. To much fake news out there.

 @8RPBYTCfrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

CBC has some dumb takes but I agree we should have a national neutral news organization

 @8R26JKWfrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes, but require them to be non-partisan and only report the facts, not the opinion and as long as they remain impartial and report what the government believes is the right news.

 @8Q5CJW3from Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes, as long as they remain non-partisan and only report news not personal opinions. It should be illegal for them to disclose their political affiliation on-air.

Yes.. and Canadians should be much more supportive of it, and our Arts in general. We have world class productions, gaining international recognition .. there is much return on investment, but We, as Canadians must be supportive of it...for in the world eye, looking in on us, if we continue to balk at it, have our typical low self esteem and overtly critical attitude, this behaviour hurts our image internationally, as well as shies away investment from richer more powerful nations. Canadians have a particular problem with investing money and time and effort into things. They are so quick to want the cheap option.. to demolish instead of repair. etc.

 @8PL3RMRConservativefrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

No. The CBC has morphed into CNN... a glaringly partizan propaganda arm of Neo-Liberal Left.

 @8PDQ35Dfrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes, and use it to provide French content to English Canadians and English content to French Canadians to increase bilingualism, exposure to the opposing culture, and cohesion

 @8P9CY8Qfrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

I feel that the CBC has become too bias in favour of the left, and until it can become more neutral, I don't feel strong about promoting them.

 @8P5LGN6from Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes, make it non-profit and add a Ministry of Broadcasting, Information and Entertainment. But ensure the CBC has no political bias before committing to this.

 @8KLCJ9TNew Democraticfrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8H5DYHFfrom Ontario  answered…5yrs5Y

No, and eliminate funding because CBC is bought by the Chinese government and is spreading false information and Chinese Propaganda.

 @8CRV6LZfrom Ontario  answered…5yrs5Y

Who cares really most people don't watch it under the age of 25 we get our news from Twitter, Instagram and YouTube.

 @9BZ2SK6from Ontario  answered…2yrs2Y

 @8TCG9Q4from Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8SHNHYVfrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes, but only after they eliminate personal political opinions and only report what the government wants them to report. We should nationalize all news networks.

 @8DC736Tfrom Ontario  answered…5yrs5Y

No, we should dissolve the CBC as it is so biased against people of differing viewpoints and has shown to be fake news and the CBC is irrelevant.

 @B4PPBZNfrom Ontario  answered…3 days3D

Increase funding, but strictly enforce absolute political neutrality with zero editorializ8ng or opinions.
