No, if the government were to fund a wide-spread news source, the pubic's best interest may be compromised. That is not to say, however, that information should not be free and easily accessible.

No and eliminate funding! The CBC is a corrupt liberal mouthpiece for which Justin Trudeau expels his lies out to the Canadian people! Disgusting!

No, broadcasting stations will have a bias if they are government funded

Yes, but only if the CBC becomes non profit and standards are set to ensure fair and unbiased reporting.

Yes.. and Canadians should be much more supportive of it, and our Arts in general. We have world class productions, gaining international recognition .. there is much return on investment, but We, as Canadians must be supportive of it...for in the world eye, looking in on us, if we continue to balk at it, have our typical low self esteem and overtly critical attitude, this behaviour hurts our image internationally, as well as shies away investment from richer more powerful nations. Canadians have a particular problem with investing money and time and effort into things. They are so quick to want the cheap option.. to demolish instead of repair. etc.

Yes, and use it to provide French content to English Canadians and English content to French Canadians to increase bilingualism, exposure to the opposing culture, and cohesion

All news outlets should get government funding, provided they do not partake in the propagation of mis/disinformation.
