Yes, but after they have finished serving their sentence and its safe to return to their home countrey

 @8VTGNRDfrom Ontario  commented…4yrs4Y

Who cares if it is unsafe for them to return to their country. You don't commit crime in the country and get safe passage back. It's part of the consequence.

 @B43SXTX from Alberta  answered…4wks4W

Prioritize skilled immigration to match Canada’s labor needs while ensuring economic benefits.

Improve infrastructure planning to support growing immigrant populations without straining public services.

Strengthen vetting processes for national security concerns without making the system overly restrictive.

Ensure fair and efficient pathways for refugees while preventing abuse of the system.

 @B3VHYDDfrom Alberta  answered…1mo1MO

the question itself is vague, but if they entered illegally then yes, if it is safe for them to return to their country than yes, but otherwise it's really dependent.

 @B39YWLPLiberalfrom Alberta  answered…2mos2MO

This question doesn't really make sense because why are we deporting only immigrants that commit a serious crime? Does this not tie into some sort of racism? If the crime committed involved murder or arson, then yes I suppose. If not, then what's the point of deporting them? If it's something like stealing then no. And if they are then they should be able to return to their country with no questions asked.

 @B374ZCMLiberalfrom Alberta  answered…2mos2MO

It depends on how long they have been living in Canada for, have they assimilated well into the community here, and are the a legal or illegal immigrant.

Any immigrant who came here legally, has been here for several years, has assimilated into the community here, and have no more significant ties to their home country, should not be deported.

 @B2VDNWTNew Democraticfrom Alberta  answered…2mos2MO

depends based on their immigration status at the time of their offence. If they're permanent residents or citizens, they should not be deported.

 @B2SWTSNfrom Alberta  answered…2mos2MO

They shouldnt necessarily be deported, but more like treated like citizens of the country who commited serious crimes. If they have a repeat offense they should be sent back.

 @9ZZ37MKConservativefrom Alberta  answered…5mos5MO

Yes, regardless of if their country of origin is a country with a bad human rights history should of thought about that before committing a violent offence

 @9ZJYT2Bfrom Alberta  answered…5mos5MO

Very situationally dependant, especially dependant on their contribution and dedication to the betterment of their lives as well as our country.

 @9JS8GNHfrom Alberta  answered…1yr1Y

They should be imprisoned for what they did, but if they entered the country illegally they should be deported

 @9JQ8T5Jfrom Alberta  answered…1yr1Y

No, unless they've entered illegally & it's safe for them to return to their home country, if it's not safe, then either keep them here or send them to another safe nation willing to take them in.

 @9HFM6PVfrom Alberta  answered…1yr1Y

if they commit somthing super seirous like murder fraud or rape than yes but not if they do somthing smaller

 @9FG3RSVfrom Alberta  answered…2yrs2Y

 @9FDLWSLConservativefrom Alberta  answered…2yrs2Y

No, depending how serious they had one chance and failed they should be executed

 @9F8VWSZfrom Alberta  answered…2yrs2Y

If they are citizens of Canada they should be tried as Canadians, if they are not yet they should be deported unless they won't be safe in their home country (ie. they are of an identity that will face persecution, they are personally at risk if they return, or if the punishment for their crime would be inhuman such as torture or the death penalty.)

 @9F7WWLJfrom Alberta  answered…2yrs2Y

 @9F6XSHLfrom Alberta  answered…2yrs2Y

Not if they are legally a citizen or it is unsafe for them to return to their country

 @9F5HY3Hfrom Alberta  answered…2yrs2Y

If they are a citizen then no. If they are a non citizen who has been deemed a danger to remain in Canada than yes, but even in that instant only so long as their country of origin is safe for them to return to.

 @9CM6JT8from Alberta  answered…2yrs2Y

Immigrants should be deported regardless of seriousness of the crime. Including their whole family.

 @9BJ8GRJfrom Alberta  answered…2yrs2Y

 @9BFS3C7from Alberta  answered…2yrs2Y

If they are not legal citizens and only if they are deemed guilty beyond reasonable doubt by a Canadian jury. If the crime occurs on Canadian soil then it is a Canadian case and should be treated with the same respect any legal resident would recieve.

if able to conduct a background check with family or files acquired in order to aid in the prostitutions of immigrants with criminal tendencies

 @B2BMK7Bfrom Alberta  answered…3mos3MO

Unless they have entered the country illegally, no, if they have & it is unsafe for them to return home, send them to an agreed safe location outside of Canada.

 @9ZZFG54from Alberta  answered…4mos4MO

If the crime was intentional and threatening or causing injury or death or grievous loss of property etc.

 @9Y9VJFWLiberalfrom Alberta  answered…5mos5MO

Yes and No. Yes if they have been charged multiple times No because if theyre a legal citizen, they should only finish their senetence.

 @9VW59ZNfrom Alberta  answered…6mos6MO

If they commit a crime in Canada they should be instantly deported and banned regardless of the danger they face elsewhere. If they’re worried about the consequences in their country of origin, they wouldn’t commit crimes in a country that accepted them.

 @9V2B3ZYCommunistfrom Alberta  answered…7mos7MO

No, the majority of foreigners deported when they arrive in their country of origin are not properly penalized, which is why they should be penalized in the country where the crime was committed.

 @9TZKMBHfrom Alberta  answered…7mos7MO

They should serve their time, and be closely monitered afterwards and if they do bad stuff again, have them serve their time and deport them.

 @9TR638Hfrom Alberta  answered…7mos7MO

If they have a citizen ship they can serve their sentence here in Canada but if not they can go back to their country

 @9TCSCPHfrom Alberta  answered…7mos7MO

If thier is hard genuinue proof of that crime they should be deported with a chance of permission to come back

 @9SZ2Z7PConservativefrom Alberta  answered…8mos8MO

Yes, but only if the crime is serious enough(such as terrorism), and after a investigation of the criminal has been done.

 @9SXL554from Alberta  answered…8mos8MO

Yes, if it is a crime such as rape, aggravated assault, any sort of abuse to Canadians, but if their country is unsafe or in a state of war for example, then they should be in some sort of prison cell

 @9P8NRFMNew Democratic from Alberta  answered…10mos10MO

If it is safe to do so then maybe. However, deporting an individual because of a serious crime does not necessarily solve or fix an issue. The offender may still continue to commit crimes even after they are deported.

 @9LVCFCFfrom Alberta  answered…12mos12MO

Depending on how long they have been in the country, what they did and if they entered the country illegally

 @9KVF23Bfrom Alberta  answered…1yr1Y

If they commited a serious crime in Canada, they should serve a longer prison sentence in return for not being deported. However, if they commited one in another country and then came to Canada, they should serve prison time in both countries.

 @9KM36XPfrom Alberta  answered…1yr1Y

Yes as long as its safe, and will be legally punished in their country as well ( as long as they pay for their crimes basically)

 @9G9JDZ8from Alberta  answered…2yrs2Y

It could depend on what crime it is because if it's not serious and they aren't a threat there is no reason they should be deported

 @9G46B8Zfrom Alberta  answered…2yrs2Y

No, unless they have illegally entered the country and it’s safe for them to return to their own country. Otherwise they should do their sentence like everyone else.

 @9FNQL96from Alberta  answered…2yrs2Y

 @9FMP7H2from Alberta  answered…2yrs2Y

 @9F42NPPfrom Alberta  answered…2yrs2Y

Depends on the crime. It depends on if they can pay their dues or if they can make up for it.

 @9C9F9K3from Alberta  answered…2yrs2Y

I believe it depends on the circumstances and the seriousness of the crime. I also believe they shouldn't be deported if it isn't safe for them to return to their own country

 @9V7S89S from Alberta  answered…7mos7MO

I believe it depends on the severity of the crime, if its truly bad and they are safe to return to their country then I do think they should go.

 @9BWPS6Mfrom Alberta  answered…2yrs2Y

No, the majority of immigrants are honest, hard workers, just wanting to create a better life. However, we need to be tougher on gang related activities and those who commit serious crimes/ repeat offenders. We need to do like other countries and deport serious offenders and never permit reentry.

 @9CLG96WLiberalfrom Alberta  answered…2yrs2Y

If we accept them as our own citizens, we should treat them as our own citizens. Justice should be blind and fair.

 @9C8YBHHfrom Alberta  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes, if the crime was committed within 10 years; however, if their country is even more dangerous, then no

 @96NWNR2from Alberta  answered…2yrs2Y

They should serve their sentence in canada and not be deoprted afterwards. They can get citizenship in prison. If they dont get citizenship within their senence they can be deported sfter said sentence

Depends, if they have permeant resident or are a citizen than no, but if they are on a work visa than yes.

 @94S2TM7New Democraticfrom Alberta  answered…3yrs3Y

Yes, but only if they have not been here for a long period of time (e.g. less than 3 years).

 @94FXTY8from Alberta  answered…3yrs3Y

Only if the crime they’ve committed is related to murder, drug or sex trafficking.

 @94C7ZJCfrom Alberta  answered…3yrs3Y

If they have committed murder or something that deems them a danger to society.

 @93QQKRSfrom Alberta  answered…3yrs3Y

no, they should be put on trial and locked away where they committed the crime

 @933LMPXfrom Alberta  answered…3yrs3Y

Potentially, after they serve their sentence. Case by case ...Prison education, and reform as we would rehabilitate and treat our own, and this should be a sociatal priority, not punitive measures. Electronic bracelet and probationary aftercare would rather.

 @92M8FFHfrom Alberta  answered…3yrs3Y

If they haven't received citizenship they yes provided the country of origin isn't in turmoil or unsafe. Doing so would be equivalent to a death sentence. If they have received citizenship then no, they should serve their time like ALL Canadians who commit a serious crime would.

 @92HC96HConservativefrom Alberta  answered…3yrs3Y

No, only if they have been in the country for less then 5 years or if it is a serious crime that harmed another citizen

 @928SH73from Alberta  answered…3yrs3Y

It honestly just depends on the situation but a no if they are legally a citizen.

 @8ZMJWMPfrom Alberta  answered…3yrs3Y

No, they should be subject to the same rights as everyone else. The country in which they were born may not be safe AND they may have been only born there but raised here and don't even know the language so that isn't fair.

 @8ZBPNF5Conservativefrom Alberta  answered…3yrs3Y

No, unless they have not recieved full citizenship or have entered the country illegally and it is safe for them to return to thier home country.

 @8XQJMGCfrom Alberta  answered…3yrs3Y

They should have the same sentencing as what is expected for the crime committed and then should be evaluated at the end to see if they should stay in canada.
