They shall be held in prison for longer but unless they have there Canadian citizen ship they will serve the canadian sentence for that crime
@9K3F9YCConservative1yr1Y
Yes, but after they have served their sentence and if they have good behaviour it can be reconsidered with community service.
@9JNM5S71yr1Y
Yes, and do not allow any other immigrant from that country until that immigrant has been dealt with under their home countries justice system
@9FKMM2T2yrs2Y
Yes if it is a felony and they have not been here for a minimum of five years, and/or have citizenship
@9FDLWSLConservative2yrs2Y
No, depending how serious they had one chance and failed they should be executed
@9F7WWLJ2yrs2Y
Only if they have been in Canada for less than a year
@9DH5CGJConservative2yrs2Y
If they haven’t become fully Canadian citizens then yes, otherwise no.
@9BGJ2B4Conservative2yrs2Y
Depends what crime did they commit?
@8TTFNPD4yrs4Y
For petty crimes, no but if a series crime is committed then yes.
@8SHHHXY4yrs4Y
They should either be deported or in jail.
@9V7JKBZConservative7mos7MO
Only if they are here on a permit, if they have Permanent Residence then they should be treated the way any citizen would
@9T64K8RConservative7mos7MO
Yes, if it is safe for them to return to their country. And no, if they have entered Canada illegally and fi they committed the crime in their original country.
@9SZ2Z7PConservative8mos8MO
Yes, but only if the crime is serious enough(such as terrorism), and after a investigation of the criminal has been done.
@9LVCFCF12mos12MO
Depending on how long they have been in the country, what they did and if they entered the country illegally
@9LM4P8Y1yr1Y
If they have citizenship they should be able to stay though without they should be deported after a serious crime.
@9KJZXZDConservative1yr1Y
It depends on what crime they commit. For example, bio-terrorism should be a serious crime which is deportable to some extent. But you don't just deports somebody for stealing 3 packets of jolly ranchers. Also, how long have they lived in this country; a year, 16 years, are they legal citizens? Etc.
@9FNQL962yrs2Y
No they should be punished the same as people who live in the area
@9BMDJJNConservative2yrs2Y
Yes then put in prison in their original country to reduce taxes For canada
@9BLGW4M2yrs2Y
No because everone makes a serious crime
@99XJVC5Conservative2yrs2Y
@96NWNR22yrs2Y
They should serve their sentence in canada and not be deoprted afterwards. They can get citizenship in prison. If they dont get citizenship within their senence they can be deported sfter said sentence
@964XZRFConservative3yrs3Y
yes, but to another safe country not including the one they fled.
@95SHK28Conservative3yrs3Y
I think no because getting deported might be what the criminal want because it's possible they will recieve protection when they go there it also depends on what kind and how serious the crime it is
@92HC96HConservative3yrs3Y
No, only if they have been in the country for less then 5 years or if it is a serious crime that harmed another citizen
no they should be deported and banned if they commit any offence
@928K482Conservative3yrs3Y
no they should serve their time in canada
@8ZBPNF5Conservative3yrs3Y

depending on the seriousness of the crime and if it is safe for them to go back to there country
@8VTLY52Conservative4yrs4Y
it depends if they commit more than one crime or a more serious crime
@8VR8Q4PConservative4yrs4Y
This should also apply to non-immigrants maybe in some cases.
@8VR8GFDConservative4yrs4Y
Depends on the crime, but yes they should serve their sentence first.
@8VPXW7PConservative4yrs4Y
No, they should just go to jail in the country that they are residing in.
@8VMCKF9Conservative4yrs4Y
Yes, but on a case by case scenario. There should be no hard rule governing the line on who goes and who stays (and only if it safe).
@8VM4PZCConservative4yrs4Y
if it is something very bad than anyone should be deported.
@8VCTPNJConservative4yrs4Y
They should face our federal law system and serve our punishment, they should be deported if they entered illegally.
@8V544GGConservative4yrs4Y
Yes! They should be sent back to their home country if they’ve committed ANY type of crime. Why is this even a question?!?!
@8V4QVT64yrs4Y
Yes, but only if they are not fully Canadian citizens or permanent residents and it is safe to return to their country.
@8V2WM4KConservative4yrs4Y
They should be thrown in jail forever, the same as any other criminal that commits a serious crime such as rape (serious and life-altering to the victim) or murder (except in the case of self-defense, such as a woman who is being domestically abused. They should be given a medal.).
@8TYT9YDConservative4yrs4Y
Yes, unless they have become a citizen before the crime
@8TWF8KQConservative4yrs4Y
This has to be case by case, lots of factors to consider
@8TJJNGRConservative4yrs4Y
They can stay in the country but just in jail or hospital of some sort.
@8TJ7RB6Conservative4yrs4Y
If they serve their sentence they should not be deported

It all depends how serious if it is something such a murder then yes but if it is something like B and E then no
@8T2MJ7Z4yrs4Y
No Unless there crime is as serious misrepresentation, terrorism, treason, and foreign spying.
@8RMXG28Conservative4yrs4Y
Yes, but only if they have no family to support
@8RL47CS4yrs4Y
You have to define what you include as a serious crime. There is a wide interpretation of what than means. We have laws in place that if convicted of certain indictable offences, the guilty person upon completion of any sentence can be deported. But what do with someone who gave up their original nationality? They cannot go back to a country they are no longer a citizen off
@8QYHCZ9Conservative4yrs4Y
They should have to serve a prison sentence like any Canadian citizen.
@8QVZD29Conservative4yrs4Y
Yes, depending on the act
@8QM5JV84yrs4Y
Yes - But only if they have not received permanent resident status.
@8QGQGJKConservative4yrs4Y
No, Because they should be put through our justice system if they commited a crime in Canada.
@8QCHD32Conservative4yrs4Y
If they have become a official Canadian citizen then no.
@8Q4ZQK7Conservative4yrs4Y
yes, but depending on the crime
@8PT2CHWConservative4yrs4Y
Yes, unless they’re citizens.
@8PRBHSXConservative4yrs4Y
They should be sent to remote locations in northern Canada and left there so they can’t realistically return to Canadian society
@8PJHRBPConservative4yrs4Y
@8PHYR94Conservative4yrs4Y
Assuming they are NOT Canadian citizens, yes after they have served their sentence.
@8P5N3XX4yrs4Y
No, but they should have to serve a prison sentence
@8NW3K9HConservative4yrs4Y
No, We Should Lift The Abolishment Of Capital Punishment; Life In Prison Is Pointless.
@8NHBHXDConservative4yrs4Y
only if the government feels they can't handle the situation
@8FMTFZGConservative5yrs5Y
only if they have not become part of Canada
@8D2SVDVConservative5yrs5Y
it would depend on the persons immigration status
@8CTWWHTConservative5yrs5Y
yes, as long as it is safe for them to return to their country. if it is not safe then they will have to serve their sentence in the country they immigrated to and once they're done serving they will return back to their country if it is safe to do so.
@9D35JBQConservative2yrs2Y
Yes, but only if the crime has resulted in a horrible suffering economically or at the expense of someone

@9938BNZConservative2yrs2Y
Treat them as you would any other citizen
@98ZSBHNConservative2yrs2Y
Only if they are not a citizen of the country at this ppint
@98YZYPR2yrs2Y
They should be deported only if they have committed a second serious felony offence.
@98P34X7Conservative2yrs2Y
If they have committed a serious crime within Canada they should be deported immediately including their family.
@98F7NBY2yrs2Y

@97T4JZCConservative2yrs2Y
Yes, depending on if they entered illegally or depending on how serious the crime is. (Felony, financial, violent or sexual crimes)
@97G8X3RConservative2yrs2Y
yes, after they finish serving their sentence and they are not citizens.
@96SPRLYConservative2yrs2Y
It would depend on just how serious the crime was if their country was safe and they committed murder I would say yes
@8Z4YW8SConservative3yrs3Y
only if they are aware of what they did. if not, then give them leniency.
@8X3DDBWConservative3yrs3Y
that depends on the crime
@8VKXN9KConservative4yrs4Y
yes if it is a serious enough crime and is going to become an issue if they do not end up going back.

They need to be imprisoned and should the crime be violent or otherwise considered terroristic by definition give them the death sentence as usually they walk once deported
@8MSTS9SConservative4yrs4Y
Judged on a person by person basis, rather than as a general rule. If it is becoming a serious issue with growing crime rates then yes.

No, punished, but not sent back
@8DJ23XWConservative5yrs5Y
If it's a crime that gets a supreme court reading than yes
