No, but they should provide more benefits for lower income students or students with little/no parental support.

 @B4K4D8Vfrom Alberta  answered…1wk1W

Yes there should be a cap and if grades are high offered a lower rate for continuing towards a degree in classes which are in high demand for future career replacements

 @B2CHY7Wfrom Alberta  answered…3mos3MO

tuition should be capped to those who can't afford but still want/need education so taxes won't get too high but still affordable

 @8CDLTDLConservativefrom Alberta  answered…5yrs5Y

No, however one's inability to afford the schooling tuition should not jeopardize their ability to get accepted into the school.

 @9F5KMPVfrom Alberta  answered…2yrs2Y

Tuition should be free. Higher education is not a luxury. It should be a fundamental right. It is not far that poor people cannot afford to go to university and make less money because higher paying jobs require more training and education.

 @9RZPX67from Alberta  answered…8mos8MO

the best universities with the highest scrutiny to be accredited should be allowed to charge the top tuition rates.

 @9H6GJSNfrom Alberta  answered…1yr1Y

Cap it at a reasonable rate to ensure the College still makes money to pay their instructors/professors to ensure fair pay and fair pay to students.

 @8TB3T3Hfrom Alberta  answered…4yrs4Y

it should be adjustable depending on income, the poor shouldn't have to rely on loans and scholarships.

 @8T9NK9Dfrom Alberta  answered…4yrs4Y

No, But there should be good implementation and facilitation of student loans and public universities as attractive alternatives should be made available.

 @8SZW7RWfrom Alberta  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes but keeping in mind universities will raise and introduce other fees when tuition caps are imposed

 @8SYBK3TConservativefrom Alberta  answered…4yrs4Y

European system seems good. Free but you work for the government later to pay it off.

 @8SSCJP2from Alberta  answered…4yrs4Y

Private school were originally a way to segregate races, and are now a way to divide the rich from the poor, it is a outdated idea. So no I don’t support private schools!

 @8SDCDGVfrom Alberta  answered…4yrs4Y

Tuition rates should be charged based on what the degree is, or the market

 @8S9VD4Qfrom Alberta  answered…4yrs4Y

if that mean making university cheaper then yess a lot of people don't attend university because they cant afford it

 @8R9YBHVfrom Alberta  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes and govt should provide reimbursement to students with above average GPA's

 @8R2LDSGConservativefrom Alberta  answered…4yrs4Y

No, but access to universities to low-income students should be enabled through government programs

 @8QXY66Dfrom Alberta  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8QVPFD6from Alberta  answered…4yrs4Y

The government should base it off on what they want to take and what the income is of the person

 @8QRXZGVConservativefrom Alberta  answered…4yrs4Y

Students with high marks should be rewarded with lower tuitions on a sliding scale. Students with lower marks can still attend, but it costs more.

 @8QRPTG8from Alberta  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes but control within reasonable caps to ensure that quality of education still applies to value given

 @8QRGDJRfrom Alberta  answered…4yrs4Y

Somewhat. They should pay at a reasonable amount for what they wish to study.

 @8QD4K4Kfrom Alberta  answered…4yrs4Y

No, tuition costs should be tied to the actual benefits and resources the program offers. Some programs offer new, expensive, cutting edge technology for students to use and will therefore require more money to afford this technology.

 @Matt117589Greenfrom Alberta  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes, based of an internal average for that degree. Adding that all students are eligible for a interest free student loan via a governmental programme

 @8PTKQL9Conservativefrom Alberta  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8P3RPGKfrom Alberta  answered…4yrs4Y

Education of All Kinds should be Free 100%. Freedom of information and knowledge should be one of the many parts of Freedom as a whole.

 @8NXRYZTLibertarianfrom Alberta  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8NW83TJfrom Alberta  answered…4yrs4Y

No. Capping tuition rates is a tax break for the wealthy. To improve access it should provide bursaries to poor people.

 @8N6JC2Zfrom Alberta  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8JKYHFKfrom Alberta  answered…4yrs4Y

I think undergrad should be covered by the province/universities or at least subsidies to help the studnet with the financial burden, however, I think any post graduate degree (MBA, Medicine, etc) should not.

 @8DFNJCHfrom Alberta  answered…5yrs5Y

Yes. Cap it low as well. School is much too expensive and it Is hard for any people that have no family, financial, or situations like wills to help their situation regarding education.

 @8DDJKTQfrom Alberta  answered…5yrs5Y

 @8D8S5H2from Alberta  answered…5yrs5Y

Before there is further increases in tuition universities should have admin cost audits completed and defended

 @8D5LDFSfrom Alberta  answered…5yrs5Y

No, but they should subsidize degrees in areas that will help the country provide solutions to future problems. (Is sciences, mathematic, engineering, technology...)

 @8CYLGCPfrom Alberta  answered…5yrs5Y

why not supply these children with capable and bright futures in order to strive and thrive in the current environment we call canada. But what does it mean to be a canadian if not to be free. BOOBS BEER BASS.

 @8CYB2W3from Alberta  answered…5yrs5Y

No, it should not be free but can be little bit cheaper than it is now. its not possible to afford education after high school.

 @8CDJH55from Alberta  answered…5yrs5Y

 @8C84VB5from Alberta  answered…5yrs5Y

Tuition costs should be the same across the country and maintained at a reasonable equitable consistent level.

 @8ZYPVGNfrom Alberta  answered…3yrs3Y

Yes there should be a cap along with the government lowering university tuition rates

 @8VFDS8Cfrom Alberta  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8V52ZTLfrom Alberta  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes, and the government should provide free university education to those who reach the said college/university requirements (aka- average 80%+ for grade 12)

 @8QW9TP6from Alberta  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes, But only for Public universities. Private or higher quality education will cost more, but capping public universities will drive down costs for private ones as well

 @8QRPSZ8from Alberta  answered…4yrs4Y

No, The government should subsidize tuition and allow universities set their own price.

 @8PHKCQJfrom Alberta  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8P4JRW8from Alberta  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes, and the federal government should significantly increase transfers to provinces depending on their educational needs.

 @Danrumartinfrom Alberta  answered…3yrs3Y

No, but certain degrees or job certifications which are highly needed should have their price capped with additional funding available to low income students (Ex. labour work, Medical work, technical work)

 @8Z9TYQWfrom Alberta  answered…3yrs3Y

 @8YLNZTDfrom Alberta  answered…3yrs3Y

No however there should be additional support for those who want to addend university and who are lower income.

 @8Y4SD67from Alberta  answered…3yrs3Y

 @8XZMDGYfrom Alberta  answered…3yrs3Y

Yes, but the cap should be fluid with the changing market economy and inflation rates. The government should also introduce school savings plans and other subsidies which cover the costs of post-secondary.

 @8XHSH8Qfrom Alberta  answered…3yrs3Y

no but should be less so other people have a chance to go to school so they can get a job and actually live a better life that being given no chace at all

 @8V55QDJfrom Alberta  answered…4yrs4Y

Tuition should not be increased above inflation in any given year, today students are paying more money for lower quality education

 @8TX9JF8from Alberta  answered…4yrs4Y

We are falling behind former 3rd world countries in education and innovation. Secondary schooling needs to be available to all, not just the rich.

 @8TWHGQPfrom Alberta  answered…4yrs4Y

Limit tuition to actual funding the student needs for their course that relate to (ex. programming course for robotics, instead of dance course) one clearly has need over the other.

 @96M2SQSfrom Alberta  answered…3yrs3Y

Reduce grants/ loans so schools come to expect less gov money causing tuition to need to decrease.

 @94BMSDBfrom Alberta  answered…3yrs3Y

 @8WYTSPJfrom Alberta  answered…3yrs3Y

 @8WWXCH5from Alberta  answered…3yrs3Y

Universities should be free. Everyone has the right to an education, but then people are struggling to pay a quarter of the fees.

 @8VW3BPWfrom Alberta  answered…4yrs4Y

post secondary tuition subsidies should in proportion to students qualifications and need for their fields. dumb students taking studying popular fields should pay full.

 @8VRC8Z2from Alberta  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8VLK85Hfrom Alberta  answered…4yrs4Y

No, unless the Federal government is going to take over funding of the post secondary institutions.

 @8VJNWNBfrom Alberta  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8VHDMM2from Alberta  answered…4yrs4Y

If you have exceptional prerequisites so A+s in all classes in 12th Grade, then education should be paid for by the government.

 @8VH22SVfrom Alberta  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8VG6MFSfrom Alberta  answered…4yrs4Y

It all depends on a situation. I think each university should set their own tuition rates. Thus, students will have a choice of a lower-cost university.
P.S. If government decides to raise tuitiion rates, students should have more chances of getting a scholarship

 @8VG2HCRfrom Alberta  answered…4yrs4Y

i feel like it should be the same as getting a school fee and the end because in the end its just the basic right to learn

 @8VF5X2Yfrom Alberta  answered…4yrs4Y

Cap tuition for Canadians, with first right to acceptance to Canadians, then top off fields with foreign students

 @8VDGRKTfrom Alberta  answered…4yrs4Y

 @B4RKR4LConservativefrom Alberta  answered…23hrs23H

If it is a Canadian citizen, the rates should be low if not zero. Foreign students should pay much higher
