Yes, but it should be made sure that they are getting what the pay for. Some communities are on a boil advisory because the water treatment centre on the reserve is not up to code and when complaints are made, the government takes ages to respond. The same goes for housing, some repairs are not done up to standards for the fact that the people are indigenous. Also extra education and social programs for more remote communities would also be of help.

The aboriginal people should be given certain amounts of money each month. Because with all the money they are getting they don't have to work and just spend the money on drugs, and all the kids get sucked into this. They need to all have jobs and slowly get out of that loops.

Yes, and aboriginals should be consulted during the planning of energy infrastructure, while providing promised services.

As an indigenous citizen, the government funding causes more divided between aboriginal people and non-aboriginal peoples. By giving more to one population then the other, we will never succeed to be an equal society.

It depends. For example clean water is necessary so increase funds to make sure that happens, increase funds to help addicted youth. But no further funds for chiefs who take the funds for themselves and the people suffer. The funds must help the people. I think the issues are so different across this huge country that a blanket statement is not a solution. How would aboriginals identify their problems and what do they believe are the solutions may be a better route.

They should receive something in return for the past, but they have to move on and stop relying on the government for everything. It becomes a pain for us all knowing that our money is going somewhere where it is not used properly

I believe that Canadian Aboriginals should have responsibly allocated funding as of now and should be phasing towards greater economic integration specifically.

 @8DLZ3FZfrom Alberta  answered…5yrs5Y

They should be given the same per capita funding as any other citizen of Canada.

 @8C84VB5from Alberta  answered…5yrs5Y

Tough question. Aboriginals should have basic necessities that should be provided to all Canadians such as access to clean drinking water, health care and education.

No, but we need to raise more awareness and help them more. Less money, but more help in the form of services
