We’re taxed on everything. It’s too much, especially for the lower and middle class. I support lowering the overall tax burden and simplifying the system

Make taxes more reasonable per income class. Lower and middle class need lower taxes, upper class need higher taxes.

Should depend on the job/ business on how much they contribute to community and canada, doctors for example should be taxed less

Yes and reduce methods of evasion. No point in raising them if they don't collect them. Income tax for those earning less than 75k should be lowered while we weather this cost of living crisis

We should be focused on increasing property taxes, which taxes wealth/ownership and use that to offset a decrease in income taxes which would benefit primarily lower and middle-class income individuals. Obviously the challenge there is that property taxes are managed municipally, whereas income taxes fund provincial and federal coffers. We'd need to work across governments to come to a solution that keeps total tax revenues similar to current state (i.e. part of property taxes would have to go to provincial/federal govt) but this would be beautiful. Long story yes raise taxes but via this method only.

Theres no simple answer "tax the rich". What does that even mean? Focus on enforcing existing tax laws. Any tax changes need to keep Canada competitive from a tax perspective.

No - Lower the income tax rate, close loopholes, and increase sales tax while keeping sales tax exemptions for basic/core goods and services. This will stimulate spending by those in higher income brackets which ultimately benefits the national economy without penalizing those in lower income brackets.

 @8KF7TDCConservativefrom Nova Scotia  answered…5yrs5Y

No, increasing taxes only incentivizes the rich to find loopholes not to pay any taxes

Lower income tax by adding tax on current net worth. (Tax those that own stocks, land etc.)

 @97WDKK8from Nova Scotia  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes, by 100% of their income on the top 1/10th of 1% and remove loopholes for large companies and the rich people

 @942M326from Nova Scotia  answered…3yrs3Y

Yes, raise taxes on the rich to 100% of their income and add a gambling and lottery tax, for those acquring wealth by lottery tickets and gambling.
