Eliminate foreign worker visas. There is no excuse for the government to tax us, monopolize and destroy education, and then "solve' the problem of an absence of skilled workers by importing them. This is a failure of government so compounded and on such a scale that people should be in jail.

There’s no such thing as “high-skilled immigrant workers” in Canada. Tim Hortons and Uber are not “high-skilled” jobs and we don’t need foreigners here working our jobs in our country. Abolish temporary work visas. Canadian jobs belong to Canadian workers. We can train our own people to fill our own roles.

The temporary work visas should be issued to align with demand so long as employment standards and hiring practices are being accounted for.

Canadians should be looked after first and our tax dollars should NEVER help to pay wages! If a company can’t figure it out on their own, they need a better business plan.

The government should decrease the work visa's and instead put the money towards Canadian Citizens who have resided in Canada there whole lives. Train them then you've not only increased the work force but allowed the country to help themselves with their own people.

Skilled immigrants are important, but the biggest problem right now is housing/cost of living! We need more houising supply! Because of that, a slight decrease is necessary.

Maintain the current amount but give free education and job training to lessen the need for foreigner highly skilled workers in the future.

 @9NHGQD2from Alberta  answered…10mos10MO

neither, canada's economy relies on high-skilled immigrant workers but there are also millions of Canadian's who can't find jobs

 @9NBLG95from Alberta  answered…11mos11MO

While yes Canada's economy is currently dependant on immigrant skilled workers there are current Canadian residents who can't find work at all and are severelly struggling.

 @9NBKTL9from Alberta  answered…11mos11MO

I agree that our economy is dependant on immigrants who are skilled workers but there are also current Canadian residents who cannot find work, and Canada's infrasructure is not suited to keep accepting hundreds of thousands of immigrants every year.

I knew this guy who lived in bc for 2 years but couldn't buy a car or anywhere special because he couldn't get his visa or something from India so he had to work on an under the table job site to help pay for stuff, he was the best worker I've ever seen but he always got the short end of the stick and quit because our boss was kinda crazy, anway there need to be more work visas before that was really unfortunate

 @8ZVMXF6from Alberta  answered…3yrs3Y

Decrease, and the government should provide more opportunities to prepare our citizens for these jobs, specifically doctors...

 @8VMB6WPNew Democraticfrom Alberta  answered…4yrs4Y

Remain the same but if positions are not being fulfilled by Canadians, increase the work visas for that particular sector.

 @8VHLQFBfrom Alberta  answered…4yrs4Y

It should match with the needs of business as long as it is not at the cost of our own workers. Increase education and subsidize it to increase Canadian candidates.

 @8VH22SVfrom Alberta  answered…4yrs4Y

Those seeking jobs who are skilled labourers and have no violent history and meet background checks and standards should be able to apply for the available jobs.

 @8TZ5G3Qfrom Alberta  answered…4yrs4Y

We have plenty of skilled Canadians no need to seek out anyone from other countries. Stop now!!!

 @8QJJKKNfrom Alberta  answered…4yrs4Y

Increase as well as not decreasing wages for those people, they deserve to be paid the same amount as non immigrants because they would be preforming the same job

 @8QCV97Pfrom Alberta  answered…4yrs4Y

Increase but make companies pay the same rate to them as they would a Canadian citizen

 @8LWRJVXfrom Alberta  answered…4yrs4Y

Depends on whether it is a skill where there is a current labour shortage

 @9973S5Bfrom Alberta  answered…2yrs2Y

Decrease until Canada's infrastructure catches up with the current population ie. hospitals, schools etc
