Depends on the board in question. You should not be forced to buy you should be made to consider them appropriately and equally to men if they are qualified l.

I feel that each business should hire the people best suited for the position. To place a woman on the board of directors simply because of her gender and not her merit is silly.

No, it should be based on qualifications, but more should be done to disolve boundries for minorites and impower them in the workplace

 @952DT3Lfrom Saskatchewan  answered…3yrs3Y

The board should consist of the most qualified members, gender is irrelevant

 @949CP74New Democraticfrom Nova Scotia  answered…3yrs3Y

No, but there should be incentives for businesses to diversify boards. Incentivize, not mandate.

 @8ZC5J9Rfrom Ontario  answered…3yrs3Y

Yes, and women should have access to the same resources that help men become qualified for those positions

 @8Z7J8MZNew Democraticfrom British Columbia  answered…3yrs3Y

We should encourage women to put themselves in positions of higher power

no, but the government should do more to require diversity in the workplace

 @8VH2MYFNew Democraticfrom British Columbia  answered…4yrs4Y

No, but the government should do more to enable diversity in the workplace by encouraging and helping to develop women in business.

 @MiladyBeeNew Democraticfrom British Columbia  answered…4yrs4Y

yes, and the government should give priority to their suppliers that do.

 @8V772GPNew Democraticfrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

No for small businesses, yes for large businesses. It's a ridiculous requirement when the board of directors for a small business may only be two people.

 @8V5N92GNew Democraticfrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

Women should have equal opportunity to get there but the most qualified should get it

 @8V3D4RDNew Democraticfrom British Columbia  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes, but supports should be in place to retain those women and properly utilize their expertise. We shouldn't be tokenizing women, or any other marginalized group

 @8TVC9W3New Democraticfrom Alberta  answered…4yrs4Y

No, but the government should do more to address gender disparities in male-dominated industries.

  @8TFVW57New Democraticfrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes but through an incentive program, especially for all federally and provincially regulated companies, institutions and organizations, including all organizations that receive government funding or grants.

 @8R3PCHPNew Democraticfrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

I think that workplaces should be more diverse as long as those individuals have the skills for that job

 @8QTW592New Democraticfrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

I think they are supposed to treat everyone equally. We can't make it a requirement to heir women if they aren't qualified it's be the same the other way around however I would question them if they had none on their board

 @8PDHQWHfrom Newfoundland  answered…4yrs4Y

if theyre good at their job they should be put in, same with both genders and all races

 @8JKTRJHNew Democraticfrom British Columbia  answered…4yrs4Y

There needs to be more diversity in the workplace. Whether that be women, trans people, or nonbinary people. There shouldn't be a requirement to fill these token diversity places. Instead, there should be workshops implemented to fisht against bias and discrimination in the workplace.

 @8H3GHR8New Democraticfrom Ontario  answered…5yrs5Y
