It's also been proven that mandatory treatment for those who use drugs is ineffective, not to mention that we are criminalizing those who are already struggling. We need to restructure our society so that more people feel cared for, have work, have homes, the billionaire and ultra wealthy class is not stealing in plain sight. Criminalize them for their theft. Not drug users.

what difference does it make if a person on welfare has a joint now and then? To think that being on welfare means you need to be totally miserable 100% of the time is just mean spirited.

Some residents could cause substantial damage to the home if they were on drugs, and having them not on drugs prevents damage and ensures the resident is suitable for the home.

If I have to pass a drug test to be able to work, people on welfare should as well. Thus, money will be used more appropriately to help those in need to get back on their feet quicker
