The federal minimum wage is the lowest wage at which employers may pay their employees. The Liberal government eliminated Canada's federal minimum wage in 1996. Each province and territory now sets their own minimum wage which range from $10.50 per hour to 12.50 per hour.

The minimum wage will only cost other prices to rise. It is a huge hit on stores because they can't afford to pay their higher rolls
/full time staff more when 16year olds are making so much just for minimum wage. Mind you 16 year old aren't being taxed which those are the people who can afford to be hit with taxes at that age.

If the basic everyday needs of people weren’t as expensive as they are now minimum wage wouldn’t need to be increased
@9FNLM6G2yrs2Y
Yes, if they are also raising the wages of other Canadians, who have worked hard for what they earn.

There should be universal basic standard of living such as free healthcare, basic housing, education, food, water, etc so that being able to live is not tied to how much income is brought in.
@8LH6R9G4yrs4Y
if the prices go up on cost to living then yes
@96BHBSG3yrs3Y
The system reacts in reverse order. Minimum wage should be affected by inflation, instead it drives it.
@92TPFLJ3yrs3Y
No, the provinces should determine minimum wage
Depending on how hard the job is, it should be raised
@8VTXFXR4yrs4Y
Provincial minimum wage should be raised, the federal is somewhat fair at this point
@8VSV6KR4yrs4Y
There shouldn’t be federal minimum wage
@8V9KY564yrs4Y
Yes to raising minimum wage but if minimum wage goes up so does everyone ones else wage as well to keep that difference in wages

Need to watch the economy. My opinion on this fluctuates, based on cost of living increases.
No, it should be provincally/ teritorrially mandated depending on cost of living, ex British Columbia should have a higher minimun wage that New brunswick.
@8QZKTND4yrs4Y
Yes, make it a living wage, AND adjust for inflation
Minimum wage should be how many years you’ve worked there for and change every year or two
@8PLHP4Q4yrs4Y
The minimum wage goes up every so often so they shouldn't since it does rise a little.
@8PC5V9Z4yrs4Y
I'm debating in between yes and no because I think that the people deserve to earn more money but at the same time, small business owners may not be able to pay their employees.
@8P994HY4yrs4Y
No, most minimum wage jobs are meant to develop experience, not support a family. However a "minimum living wage" should be established and adjusted every year based on inflation, for a full time permanent job.
@8P6K79Z4yrs4Y
Wage should be based on gdp But prices will go up accordingly and the purchase power will not improve N
@8L47BR24yrs4Y
it depends on your job and how hard you work
@99Q8Z7H2yrs2Y
depending on that places cost of living
@9898FLY2yrs2Y
No every thing will go up
@97ZF8492yrs2Y
What Federal minimum wage? The minimum wage is different for each province.
@8WTC6CY3yrs3Y
No, federal minimum wage doesn’t effect most employees and seems pointless. Federal minimum wage should over ride the provincial minimum wage if it wants to be useful.
@8TXKCPP4yrs4Y
Yes, but there should be a 2nd tier wage for dependents
@9D5HV3N2yrs2Y
Absolutely not! The minimum wage hurts the very people it claims to help.
