No, the government should focus more on keeping the cost of living down so wages don't have to keep going up.

Yes but UBI would be more practical. And actually universal. For everyone. As soon as limits are put on access to it people can start to systematically remove it from those in need.

The government should introduce a universal basic income annually adjusted to the cost of living.

 @8YKF22Bfrom British Columbia  answered…3yrs3Y

Neutral, but if they do increase minimum wage, all other professions' wages should increase proportionally

Have a general standard but raise depending on profits per business so small business can still afford to hire

 @8VGZ6YDfrom Alberta  answered…4yrs4Y

How do you accomodate workers that have been at job for many years that dont get an increase.

Yes to raising minimum wage but if minimum wage goes up so does everyone ones else wage as well to keep that difference in wages

 @8V64Z3Jfrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

No, instead of Minimum Wage there should be UBI, wages can then be Adjusted depending on skill/ability, less pressure on business owners and employees

 @8TWHRGWfrom Alberta  answered…4yrs4Y

Minimum wage should be $15 an hour, regardless of age (minors should get $15/hour)

Minimum wage should be based on municipality (since smaller cities will have lower costs for housing, etc than larger ones).

 @8T2CBKFfrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

yes, it should be increased to a living wage and be adjusted yearly according to inflation

i believe that it should stay the way it is, as the change may cause many major companies to begin replacing more and more of their workers with automated systems.

I'm debating in between yes and no because I think that the people deserve to earn more money but at the same time, small business owners may not be able to pay their employees.

 @8PBH5GGfrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

Minimum wage jobs should have a standard benefits package so companies can't replace 1 full time worker with 2 part time minimum wage workers. Livable wages should be mandatory for all jobs regardless of experience needed to perform said job.

 @8NWSVZZfrom British Columbia  answered…4yrs4Y

No, and we must eliminate insourcing of foreign labour at reduced wages whoch unfairly compete with high local opportunity costs.

 @8N3VGR8from Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes, Minimum Wage should be reset to adjust for the cost of living which is roughly $17 in Ontario, and should be adjusted to raise with inflation on a YEARLY basis. However this can become expensive for employers, therefore limiting the price of housing and other things such as tuition are more important. If these things were more affordable then the livable wage per hour should decrease significantly.

 @8L34WXWfrom Saskatchewan  answered…4yrs4Y

Raising the minimum wage will wipe out lots of small family business. Big companies sure have to pay a living wage.

If minimum wage is being increased, people with career jobs should have a pay increase too. It’s not fair that someone with minimal education is getting paid almost the same as someone with education and a good career.

minimum wage should be adjusted depending on the amount of roles you serve or what position you are in

 @8QP9T3Qfrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8PYQYSGfrom Alberta  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes, make it a thriving wage, and adjust it every year according too inflation, as well as a UBI.

 @8KWSXNKfrom British Columbia  answered…4yrs4Y

Possibly increased at the rate of inflation, but no quicker than inflation is happening

 @993TYN3Conservativefrom New Brunswick  answered…2yrs2Y

Instead of minimum wage, have UBI that is only available to unemployed people, and set it at liveable amount so corporations have permanent wage competition

 @4M8TY2Manswered…3yrs3Y

Yes, it should be a living wage and be increased yearly according to inflation.

 @8S2LJ24 from California  answered…3yrs3Y

No, eliminate the minimum wage and have all workers and workplaces be automatically unionized by law.

 @6RW5J4M from Louisiana  answered…4yrs4Y

No, but have the government offer a federal wage subsidy that would, in effect, raise the minimum wage
