Marriage shouldn’t be defined as something specifically between separate genders, is more productive to create broader definitions for policy and practices in order to reduce argument over small details.

 @B34YX9Nfrom Alberta  agreed…2mos2MO

Legislation should not be influenced by religion in today's modern world due to the fact that if laws and legislations were to use religion as a basis for its system, then who says that an individual claiming that in his religion they need to sacrifice 1000 people every month as a ritual for a outer god, could not use his argument about his right to use his religion to enforce genocide.
Legislation made with religion can lead to extreme laws dooming a society to an extreme in either side of the political spectrum

I guess try to picture how you would feel if the situation were reversed. If heterosexual marriage were illegal, how would that affect your life? And wouldn't the law feel so ridiculous and harmful?

 @9VWB28Ffrom British Columbia  agreed…6mos6MO

As long as it’s not hurting anyone, it should be legal to marry whoever you want. It’s an agreement to love and care for each other for the rest of your lives, not a gender specific thing

 @9LLTTGTNew Democraticfrom Ontario  agreed…1yr1Y

At the end of the day marriage is an agreement to love eachother unconditionally. If you love someone, you should have the right to marriage. Love is love and everyone deserves to have that expeirence in life no matter who they are.

 @9LJ64PDfrom Ontario  agreed…1yr1Y

If it isn't hurting you physically and is not inferring with your life then shut your trap and mind your business

 @9LH6Y49Bloc Québécoisfrom Ontario  agreed…1yr1Y

I think that people should be able to choose their partners, and have the right to make a life with that person having marriage as an optional choice just as couples of opposite sex do

 @9JYWQ8Kfrom Ontario  agreed…1yr1Y

people can have a relationship with whom they see fit, do as you want just don't bother people with it

 @9JXF34Zfrom Ontario  agreed…1yr1Y

One study suggests that approximately 15% of gay marriages end in divorce within 10 years, as opposed to 18% in their heterosexual counterparts. There isnt much of a difference, from the looks of it LESS LGBTQ+ marriages end with divorce.

 @9J4PB2TLiberalfrom Ontario  agreed…1yr1Y

my opinion doesn't matter even though I say yes to gay marriage. The only decisions and opinions that matter are the ones of the people choosing to marry one another.

 @9HMKMCQfrom Ontario  agreed…1yr1Y

The part in the bible saying “man should not love boy” is referring to pedopholia, not gay people, god is supposed to love all people, why would that exempt gay people?

 @9GRC5BMPeople’sfrom Ontario  agreed…1yr1Y

2400 BCE – Khnumhotep and Niankhkhnum are believed to be the first same-sex couple in recorded history.

Homosexual tendencies are found in every animal in the animal kingdom from birds, to fish, to insects, and reptiles. Its natural and we have observed its span across thousands of species.

 @9GQ9V7Tfrom Ontario  agreed…1yr1Y

There is no logical reason why anyone should be able to control what someone else dose with thier life when it is somthng as innocent as marriage. Do what you want with your life but don't force other people to live by your rules.

 @9GP9P2Jfrom Louisiana  agreed…1yr1Y

It’s about love and compassion. 2 people should be allowed to be together no matter their identities.

  @JAMden from Nebraska  agreed…1wk1W

A huge majority of the total population is in support of same-sex marriage, according to polls conducted in 2022.

 @B38JGVDfrom Ontario  agreed…2mos2MO

Marriage is something that is honestly just a way of showing love. If it is somehow gotten rid of, then thats not going to stop gay people from loving each other. The only difference of marriage and dating, is a piece of paper. Gay people can still choose to throw a celebration, can still call each other husband or wife. They can still do all this stuff that married people can do. So why put in all that effort just to show that you are homophobic and want to discriminate against others? Why put in all that effort to convince others that you don't agree with equality? Gay people have every right to marry one another, and there's no way of completely getting rid of that idea.

 @B364GLQConservativefrom Ontario  agreed…2mos2MO

Everyone deserves to be happy and if they choose to be in a committed relationship it is their own choice

 @B2LWPPYPeople’sfrom Nova Scotia  agreed…3mos3MO

there been some reserch that shows homo sapiens are geneticly bısexual so ıf a man can fall for a woman why not fall for another man?

 @9FKJ4GDNew Democraticfrom Ontario  agreed…2yrs2Y

Love is love and it shouldn’t have to matter what gender you are. If one love another person then gender doesn’t matter.

 @9LQB4MQfrom Alberta  agreed…12mos12MO

They are much more happy! Only 2% of same-sex marriage get divorced, so they would make country happy index happier!

 @9H2FY5Tfrom New York  agreed…1yr1Y

A lot of animals have been shown to like the same gender. I remember seeing something about to penguins who were the same gender loving each other.

Gay marriage could raise the overall mental stability of this generation (Gen z) and older. It could lower the suicide rates, as a big portion of suicides are because of countries forbidding them from showing their true sexualities and genders. If gay people were treated more the same as straight people (allowing gay marriage), there would be less of a division between the two sexualities, and could bring us closer as a society.

 @B4KY3ZNfrom Manitoba  agreed…1wk1W

Just because certain individuals do not consider a marriage between two people of the same sex a “proper” marriage, does not mean the rest of the population should deal with the repercussions.

 @B4JKRHZLiberalfrom Manitoba  agreed…1wk1W

people should be able to marry whoever they want, as long as there are no aggressive exploits that can be benefitted from it, marriage should be between anyone

 @9FDFS6Kfrom British Columbia  agreed…2yrs2Y

Why is it that hard to let people exist and love who they love. You as a person should keep to yourself if you have a problem with it. They're not hurting anyone, so leave them be.

 @B4DTNF6 from Ontario  agreed…2wks2W

I fell inlove with my soulmate and I should be able to marry whoever I fell inlove with. Who I marry and sleep with shouldn’t be up to anyone else but me.

 @9GN2LRQfrom Ontario  agreed…1yr1Y

If marriage is to be arbitrated by the state then it should be dispassionate about the gender of the individuals getting married. Allowing gay marriage does not affect heterosexual marriage. Yet banning gay marriage has a profound impact on gay people.

 @9GMSV2Ffrom Alberta  agreed…1yr1Y

Sexual orientation is an intrinsic aspect of a person's identity, and extensive scientific research supports the fact that individuals do not choose their sexual orientation. Countless studies have shown that homosexuality, like heterosexuality, is not a matter of choice but rather an inherent part of a person's nature. In fact, major medical and psychological organizations, such as the American Psychological Association, have affirmed that one's sexual orientation is not a result of conscious decisions.

Furthermore, it is essential to recognize that denying same-sex couples the…  Read more

Agreeing with gay marriage reduces riots and protests that interfere with business and transportation.

 @9FWNBW4from Alberta  agreed…2yrs2Y

like I mentioned previously, it’s your own opinion on whether you want to believe in gay marriage or not . I think the best way to argue with someone is through respect, respect each other’s opinions argue you could change each other’s opinions as well, but that’s not my thought process.
