Same spending but only to countries with no human rights violations. If we have to shuffle, then do that

 @B45T7J2from Ontario  answered…2wks2W

It highly depends on the situation and purpose. It should be decided by people or the members of parliament

 @B36LMM7from Ontario  answered…1mo1MO

Add foreign aid to individual people instead of the country and to poor countries example(African countries)

 @B34Y5PHfrom Ontario  answered…2mos2MO

Decrease spending since the current spending on what we mask as “foreign aid” is only to secure economic or optical solidarity for neo imperialist forces in our country rather then a genuine willingness to help a needing nation.

 @B34VPRSfrom Ontario  answered…2mos2MO

I am satisfied with the current amount but we should be making sure the funds are not going to government's or organization's with human rights violations

 @B2QB55Gfrom Ontario  answered…2mos2MO

Stop funding violence/wars. Only provide aide for natural disasters, major accidents effecting the public (ie: walkerton), etc

 @B2PMG8Rfrom Ontario  answered…2mos2MO

We need to prioritize where foreign aid is being sent and ensuring the livelihoods of people globally who face oppression and violence. In most areas, this would mean a decrease, but in others it would be an increase

 @B2L42TMfrom Ontario  answered…2mos2MO

Decrease or suspended foreign aid until we can ensure that every Canadian and First Nations live have an adequate living standard

 @B2GVVDGfrom Ontario  answered…3mos3MO

They should commit to spending more money on circumstances in our own backyard. First Nations, homelessness, mental health etc issues before spending more money on other countries. Fix our countries issues. Continue to give foreign aid but also help our country. Find a balance.

 @9ZQRBHRConservativefrom Ontario  answered…4mos4MO

Decrease until we reduce our national budget deficit, and Deng and to countries that harbor or promote terrorism.

 @9T64K8RConservativefrom Ontario  answered…7mos7MO

Decrease, focus on reducing our national budget deficit, still give some humanitarian aid to warring countries and to help poorer nations.

 @9T3VJQSNew Democraticfrom Ontario  answered…7mos7MO

Canadian aid spending should prioritize security with regard to health and safety and fostering our global economy and be regulated so that it is not corporations who profit the most off of it. We should also not fund countries whose governments are committing human rights violations or that are destabilizing or exploiting other poorer countries.

 @9DDB3M2from Ontario  answered…2yrs2Y

I fully support giving humanitarian aid to other countries. But I think the current government or Canada sometimes or regulary forget about its own native citizens (First Nations specifically)

I say this because I myself am a indigenous resident of Canada (First Nation/Native/Canadian/Native American) and seems like the current and past goverment parties never address the issues surrounding First Nation communities.

I dont have clean water, and Trudeau said he would fix the problem back in 2015 and its 2023 and I still got to filter and boil my water before use.

Cut off countries that abuse it abnd/or human rights, full stop. Also deny it to wealthy countries. And finally, attach strings; usage time limits and strict purposing.l, or it gets rescinded.

 @B34G8Z6from Ontario  answered…2mos2MO

Increase but only after we spend more to support citizens struggling with homelessness and the poor conditions of the natives

 @B32CB8Kfrom Ontario  answered…2mos2MO

Only with countries that are willing to spend on foreign nations as well for example NATO spending foreign aid with each other and other countries. If poorer countries when in a better situation don't spend as well we will decrease spending.

 @9ZZNB4NConservativefrom Ontario  answered…4mos4MO

Decrease or maintain where we are at, but also Canada should focus on helping both indigenous peoples living in bad conditions (i.e. give them clean drinking water), and help out Canadian citizens currently living on the streets.

 @9ZR6HQ9from Ontario  answered…4mos4MO

We should increase the foreign aid spending on countries that do not have any human rights but also most specifically what Canada should do is focus on the indigenous people who are still living in bad conditions.

 @9ZQV5PZfrom Ontario  answered…4mos4MO

Increase, but Canada should be more careful with how it coordinates that spending so as to achieve better outcomes

 @9WSS4QBfrom Ontario  answered…5mos5MO

Decrease

Decrease

Decrease considerably our foreign aid spending. You have 39+ million Canadians who depend on you to ensure their lives are worth living and contributing to Canada in a meaningful way.

Similar to the instructions one would receive while flying in a plane with family members. Make sure you put the oxygen mask on yourself first, before helping anyone else, even children. Because if you pass out before you finish helping them, you are both dead. I recognize my privilege in being born in a country free from war, but on average how much of that foreign aid actually reaches the people it is intended to help?

We have an incredible chunk of our population who cannot afford to buy a modest home. Help Canadians get back on their feet first. Then let them decide how they want to help people in need.

 @9RCGFXGfrom Ontario  answered…9mos9MO

Increase, but only for countries not currently commiting human rights violations, war crimes, or violating Geneva conventions.

 @9QZCYDNfrom Ontario  answered…9mos9MO

Decrease giving money to countries that harbor or promote terrorism, or ones that have lots of human rights violations that cannot be trusted. Give that money to ones that don't fit that criteria. Probably keep the overall amount of aid the same.

 @9MW8Y2BConservativefrom Ontario  answered…10mos10MO

satisfied with the current amount but it should be stopped if the country violates human rights audaciously.

 @9LL92B4from Ontario  answered…12mos12MO

it depends on how much their receiving because they could also give to the homeless or people that need it

 @9KSKML3from Ontario  answered…1yr1Y

Maintain foreign aid to countries that have been impacted by Canada's Colonial Legacy but allow locals to determine allocation and encourage community participation

 @9K6M454from Ontario  answered…1yr1Y

there is a good portion of this money being sent to somewhere else for goods, but why need it for stuff that doesn't effect us? completely dumb.

 @9K6HR9Kfrom Ontario  answered…1yr1Y

In a land of this, we wouldn't do anything as much as else to the world, besides of what is of important need to the local economy.

 @9JWTCPTfrom Ontario  answered…1yr1Y

Not another nickle to any ally without independant evaluation regarding ANY human right violations committed & EVERY instance of civilian casualties. Suspended aid can be released if all has be done in good faith and if approved exoect uncompromising compliance accountability

 @9JWMJCZ from Ontario  answered…1yr1Y

Well mostly we will aid only the country which is getting attacked first. We will not help the country which attacked first, we will help out when there's a natural disaster.

 @9GML2K3Liberalfrom Ontario  answered…1yr1Y

I am satisfied with the currrent amount but decrease aid to countries that harbor or promote terrorism

 @9FJS26Vfrom Ontario  answered…2yrs2Y

Increase, for the countries that are undergoing genocide like Palestine and need humanitarian aid. And deny aid to countries that harbour or promote terrorism like Israel.

 @9VKQQKVfrom Ontario  answered…6mos6MO

Increase but to the countries that need and not to countries that are engaging in on going wars, and to those who are in actual need of aid.

 @9SMRCK8Independentfrom Ontario  answered…7mos7MO

Only for natural disasters, countries that can't afford to help them selves and not countries committing atrocities such as genocide.

 @9BVGQPZfrom Ontario  answered…2yrs2Y

Help Canada first. Then the government should worry about other countries.

 @9BRDHPCfrom Ontario  answered…2yrs2Y

They should increase it since there's a lot of homeless people/animals, but also a lot of families with lots of kids have to work extra hard to provide for their children.

 @9BL4FYNfrom Ontario  answered…2yrs2Y

The government should ensure that the needs of its citizens are met prior to proving aid and support to other countries

 @9B24C8Yfrom Ontario  answered…2yrs2Y

The decision will come down to the country's budget priorities and whether the public is willing to make the necessary financial commitments.

 @99XRF24from Ontario  answered…2yrs2Y

 @955C627from Ontario  answered…3yrs3Y

Increase, but go further and directly construct buildings for them. China's model would be a good starting point that will help these nations in the long run.

 @94HMR4Lfrom Ontario  answered…3yrs3Y

 @92FG9XQfrom Ontario  answered…3yrs3Y

 @92D9RW9from Ontario  answered…3yrs3Y
