Target aid more effectively to ensure funds go where they create real impact.

Encourage partnerships with Canadian businesses so aid leads to mutual economic benefits.

Increase oversight to reduce waste and corruption.

Shift focus toward sustainable development rather than just short-term relief.

depends on the situiation but i feel we should improve our country before we start trying to fix everyone else's

 @B2TMHZMfrom Alberta  answered…2mos2MO

Situation dependant. If we are in an okay state to lend a hand then I think we should. But I think we should put ourselves first.

Western countries, especially colonial powers, have historically exploited countries in the Global South, extracting resources and benefiting from systems that disadvantaged local populations. In many cases, this exploitation is ongoing—through trade deals, corporate interests, and international policies that often maintain inequality. I think that the government should only send foreign aid to countries that really needs it due to terrorism and/or natural disasters

 @9D7X3DVfrom Alberta  answered…2yrs2Y

Neither. However deny aid to countries that have human rights violation and/or harbor promote terrorism.

 @B3VQVNZfrom Alberta  answered…3wks3W

This should be used strategically to build strong partnerships and trust with current and new potential allies. Of course if there is an event where we can help recover or prevent a giant tragedy then I support increasing foreign aid. But some of the programs are ridiculous.

 @B27PJGNNew Democraticfrom Alberta  answered…3mos3MO

Yes, but again it depends on how much we can afford to allocate. Economic stability holds priority over humanitarian crises in my eyes.

 @9YNQFHTNew Democraticfrom Alberta  answered…5mos5MO

Decrease for countries who harbor/promote terrorism, commit human rights violations. Spending should be more transparent

 @9WLCXG3from Alberta  answered…5mos5MO

I think immigrants should stay in theyre own country and not use people for there green card to emotionally abuse others or mentally and physically abuse themselevs in ways, STAY AWAY

 @9V4JT2Cfrom Alberta  answered…6mos6MO

Decrease, until we are able to better help out own country. As our poor and homeless populations have increasing due to rising cost of living and nothing is being done with minimal supports

 @9T8K783from Alberta  answered…7mos7MO

depends, because Canada at the moment is supplying aid to Israel which i'm completely against, but with the right countries I think it should be increased.

 @9NK2RH9from Alberta  answered…10mos10MO

Foreign aid should not be given to UN organizations - UNRWA - which have/proven to foster hate, discrimination, and the normalization of antisemitism

 @9HCP7QVfrom Alberta  answered…1yr1Y

Eliminate foreign aid altogether. If a govt has enough money to send out of country, is it only because either taxes are too high, funds are being misused, but most likely both.

 @9FKWVLVfrom Alberta  answered…2yrs2Y

Same amount, but build procedures to ensure that the money is going to bettering the nations economy for all and prevent foreign aid spending going to government officials.

 @9FKT7BYfrom Alberta  answered…2yrs2Y

I think it should decrease a little because they should spend a lot of money to make sure that there are no more people who are addicted to drugs because they can be dangerius to children and other people

 @9F6YRJ8from Alberta  answered…2yrs2Y

 @9F5KMPVfrom Alberta  answered…2yrs2Y

Focus on the needs of Canadians first. If we cannot ensure all Canadians are free from discrimination, have health care, food, clean water we cannot be helping others. Make sure the needs of Canadians are met before helping others. Of course it would be nice it Canada can help everyone it's just not realistic. We should only help other countries who need it most.

 @8VTHVNDfrom Alberta  answered…4yrs4Y

Depends - foreign aid can be extremely harmful for promoting healthy development, but absolutely crucial in relief/emergency situations. All foreign aid spending should be re-evaluated.

 @8VJM572from Alberta  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8VGP6L2from Alberta  answered…4yrs4Y

Canada should work with other countries to help fund foreign aid, group effort rather then one country.

 @8VDJ95Rfrom Alberta  answered…4yrs4Y
