Canada should become a republic and use the electoral college like the United States.

We need electoral reform. It’s pretty sad that by the time the West votes, the east has already elected a Prime Minister. Each province should have an equal number of seats to represent their province. This would ensure the west has a voice.

No, switch to an instant runoff system and truncated ballots should be counted as well to determine a minority government

 @B2BMK7Bfrom Alberta  answered…3mos3MO

Switch to a semi-proportional system, such as Parallel Voting/Supplementary Member System, but ensure the split between the FPTP & PR seats is 50/50.

 @9JQ8T5Jfrom Alberta  answered…1yr1Y

Yes, but switch to a Parallel Voting System, & ensure the constituency & proportional seat numbers are exactly 50/50.

Keep the current system but change the qualifications for the size and number of electoral districts, so as rural Canada gets the same geographical representation as urban Canada.

Let’s vote on the platform that is best suited from each political party. They will be responsible for this platform. Each party has its pros and cons and I strongly suggest they work together representing their own platform. Let’s move away from party elections but platform elections.

Yes, because as long as the country remains centralized, first past the post strangles party diversity and promotes at best a party oligopoly and at worst a party duopoly.
