Should the government permit the use of drones for commercial purposes?

In the first 4 months of 2015 Transport Canada issued 1,600 permits for commercial drones. In contrast, the U.S.’s Federal Aviation Administration issued only 69. Over 110 companies in Canada now provide commercial drone services, which are regularly used by the movie and television industry, oil and gas companies, forestry companies and farmers.

As long as they are not trespassing on any other land, or doing nothing illegal, I think drones are good for commercials

Depends on how close the drone is and how much privacy is being invaded for the people/ buildings in it

Yes, but at a cost and with a licence. Drones have the potential for intrusion into the private realm and this will hopefully be preventative

Not until there are regulations on where they fly, camera usage, saftey issues have been dealt with and what if any criminal offenses would be involved if someone did something to cause one to crash

Not entirely, using drones can invade private properties and gather personal information.

This isn't a huge deal and may be a good way of marketing but it must not violate anyone's rights.

As long as there is proof that it is safe, it is being used in a safe environment, and it is being operated by professionals it should be okay.

Yes, but drones used for commercial purposes should require a license and should be used responsibly without invading anyone's privacy
