I think Unions depend on where you live. Where I live Unions control a lot, but in places like Halifax they are probably better

A strong voice for workplace issues should be a standard for workplace culture to ensure the needs, concerns, ideas, and contributions of the workplace are recognized and responded to, are inclusive and collaborative, and contribute to safety and well being of employees in addition to sustainable workplace goals.
