Maybe not! I’m unsure. I think we have to consider the vulnerability of our youth; they may be easily manipulated or restricted. However, I think the input of our youth is very valuable. It becomes very tricky and dangerous to begin imposing restrictions on who can and cannot vote. Making changes that further restrict voting is a huge NO to me, and that includes intellectual testing as that could be subject to bias; this could also set precedence for future restrictions that may impose upon human rights for minority groups. I think the best approach would be to set high levels of competency and legal expectation for political leaders and representatives. In tandem it is important to provide more access to education, and to hold education systems to a high level of unbias and truthful representation.
