Federal NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh is at a critical juncture in his political career as his party struggles with declining support. Once a key player in propping up Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s minority government, Singh now finds himself sidelined. Amid this, a Saskatchewan MLA sparked controversy by calling Singh a 'terrorist' during a legislative session, later issuing an apology. Singh is also pushing for a major policy initiative: a $3.5-billion expansion of Canada's pharmacare program that would cover about half of all prescriptions. The combination of political challenges and bold policy proposals could define Singh’s future in Canadian politics.

Calling Jagmeet Singh a “terrorist” is disgusting and racist — there’s no place for that in our politics. Despite the setbacks, I respect that he's still pushing for universal pharmacare; that’s the kind of bold policy we actually need right now.

Typical government move—burn billions on "free" pharmacare while ignoring the debt and trampling individual choice.

Of course he's pushing for more government handouts—typical socialist move while his party crumbles, and it's no surprise people are finally calling out his radical ties.
Singh’s pharmacare push is a step in the right direction, but cozying up to Trudeau for this long has only weakened the NDP’s credibility as a real left alternative.
